hi, ive been b&c for a year. i rotate my pins, trying to cut down on complications. i pin glutes, back if my wife will pin me, and shoulder. i pin my quads when i can but most of the time its too painful. i pin mid quad, 27g needle. i just draw my shot up, prep my quad, sit on the toilet, and try shoving the needle into my quad slowly but its extremely painful. scale of 1-10 probably a 5 compared to other sites. can someone help me on this as i want to pin that muscle, unless the wise gear kings say otherwise.

There's a technique, 27ga needle is really small so it will take a long time to inject. I use 21-23ga. Still takes a little bit to infiltrate, but is decently quick. I'm assuming you have the basic safety/cleanliness prep down so I won't discuss. The muscle needs to be completely relaxed. If you bear down it is going to hurt. You want your knee slightly bent. Your leg is not fully extended. That contracts the quad. Also the knee is not fully bent, same thing, the muscle is stretched out and it is hard to pierce and it will hurt. A nice middle of the road bend at the knee. Next you want to hold the vastus lateralis up, I use my left hand since I am right hand dominate (the syringe is in my right hand). From the lateral side of the thigh my forefingers hold the muscle up and then I use the thumb to pull the skin taught over the muscle. You can feel how relaxed or contracted your muscle is now. Try and relax again. You're aiming for the taught skin half way between your thumb and your forefinger. When you're ready to inject, it is a 90 degree angle to the skin surface, straight in. The motion is a quick "dart-like" flick of the wrist, don't go slow, that is painful. Take 2-3 deep breaths in, on the last breath, blow out at a medium pace and dart your wrist into the muscle with a smooth action, don't jab! It is all in the wrist and fingers, not your arm moving, the needle is sharp and will go in. It is a bit of mind over matter, it gets easier the more your do it. I almost passed out the first few times. Don't hold your breath. Don't push the plunger too hard, the rate of infiltration affects what you feel. I would give it about a good count to 5 to inject about 1 ml. (I suspect you could be feeling pain from injecting too fast with a small gauge needle, you know when you have a hose and the water is flowing out and then you put your thumb over the end to make it shoot out far and hard? same thing here, the smaller needle is shooting out the fluid at really high pressure, and double so because you're gonna be tempted to push hard because you want the whole damn thing to be over...) the larger bore needle (21-23) will accomplish the infiltration quickly enough and you won't need to push so hard to get the viscous fluid out. Well I hope this helps. Hard to put into words what a good video would show you. But yes please follow all the safety guidelines.

thats for the long and informative response! yes my quad is clean when i inject. its literally the needle going INTO MY QUAD that is the problem. pushing the oil has never been a problem. like i said every other muscle is simple easy and "enjoyable" quad is a death trap. so i need to prep, and pretty much 90 dgrees and push the needle in? my concern is that, ill cause more pain, thats why i like going slow. lol i can stop before anything happens. ill give this another try friday!! thanks

It's been said many times before that leg injections aren't a great idea.

I've had two abscesses and they can take 2 months to heal. You don't want to do this to your legs and also the risk of blood clots is increased with leg injections.

It hurts for good reason, there's lots of nerves in the legs and it's easy to hit them.

27 gauge pins are fine, I don't think anyone needs a large gauge to get what they need into them, then again I've seen some maniacs injecting 6cc at a time, which is dumb. No one needs more than 0.5cc of anabolics/day and that can easily get through a 27g needle.

I'm in medicine so I know a thing or two. When people say Quad that is actually a group of 4 muscles. The medical injection area is the middle one third of the outside of the thigh, this is the Vastus Lateralis muscle. It has fewer major nerves and is the easiest for self injection it is a big muscle so it can accept more than 1 ml of fluid if needed. Usually a 1 inch needle length is good for Vastus Lateralis. The other acceptable areas are the Gluteus Medias, and the Deltoid, but these two areas require someone else to do the injection for you. Gluteus Medias would require a 1.5 inch needle, and I've found that to be the most painful for me. The deltoid is the easiest and safest choice but it is relatively small so don't try to inject more than 1 mL at a time. Rotating sites is important to allow the area to heal in between. I switch between left and right and do injections every 4 days. I use proper sterile technique and my vials are from reputable sources and stored in a sealed bag in between injection days. I heal pretty well and don't get infections easily. Others here may not be so lucky. Only you know your body. Depending on the volume, subcutaneous can also acceptable but injecting into the fat means it takes longer to absorb. SubQ is usually done in the stomach (subQ injection is a different technique, short needle, 45 degree angle and pinch the skin lightly into a fold). Also, if you insist on using a small gauge needle make sure to draw up your fluid with a fatter needle and exchange the needle for fresh one when injecting into the muscle. Smaller gauges are more prone to bend and the tip will certainly blunt if you are piercing the septum of the vial and using the same needle to inject in yourself that could be a source of the pain. Always take advice with a grain of salt.

When it comes to injections I stay with the upper body. Lats being my favorite pin site because it's an area with large muscle mass and few nerves.

I avoid SubQ as I have experimented with it and did it for about a year and then had a major lumping problem that resulted in fat cell necrosis and scar tissue that I had to message the crap out of to get the hard lump to break down. I will never do SubQ again in my life as this was as painful as an abscess that I had to drain.

The reality is you learn by mistakes and what your body can tolerate. Small volumes of oil are safest, large volumes can cause some major problems.

And of course just because you can do something right now, doesn't mean that you can a year from now, the body can have painful reactions for no apparent reason.
