I'm an idiot, but I've accepted a few things as fact. When you put on weight, a percentage of that weight is going to be lean mass. Workout hard and hit good macros, that percentage of lean mass will be higher.
When you lose weight, a percentage of that weight is going to be lean mass. Workout hard and hit good macros, and you can minimize that lean mass loss. This is tricky as you need to cut calories AND likely increase protein.
Anabolic steroids assist in both of these goals. Luckily for us, it's MUCH harder to build lean mass than it is to keep it.
In repeat bulking/cutting cycles it seems that while lean mass fluctuates, it continually rises overall - leading to better and better body comp.
I will say though, some of my lifts have actually improved during a cut even though dexa scan shows lean mass loss.
