Best workouts for back pain

Hello everyone newbie here sorry for dumb question. Got fat and am having back pain from being a side sleeper my muscle feel like they are being stretched alot. Any heavy people have tips for better side sleep would help alot

The reverse hyper machine really helped with my back issues. As for side sleeping, you could try placing a pillow between your knees/legs. Hope that helps.

Reverse hyper helped me a ton too. Though I have buddies that it wrecked their back - I still assume they were using it incorrectly, but it is what it is - everyone is different.

But you should lose weight. Eat healthy, train, and go for lots of walks.

Extra firm mattress, hard to find these days because quality is very rare, you'd have to go to a good shop that still builds american. My last mattress was so firm that I had it for 20 years and it never even had any sign of use, no dents, compression, nothing and my back did great with this mattress.

Long walks or treadmill to keep moving.

Core exercises, Stability ball exercises.

Reverse Hyper Machine is perhaps the single best lower back exercise that I can think of because it addresses back stability which is probably the main cause of back pain. If you make the low back strong through this movement low back pain will be much less frequent.

Roman Chair......poor mans reverse hyper.

Belt Squats a safe alternative for traditional squat.

And don't forget certain medications can lead to back pain. Most people don't think about this, but I used to take Calcium Channel Blockers for blood pressure and screwed up my back. I get on line and research and there's lots of people reporting the same problem, some that even had surgery because they didn't stop taking this horrible med.

I have a Saatva mattress and LOVE it. Firm but conforming. It feels like a really high end mattress but the cost is pretty low.

Good point about the medications - cialis has fucked up my low back before when I take too much or too often.

Reverse hypers, hanging leg raises, and avoiding movements that cause the pain in the first place. Do not get married to an exercise, if it's causing pain you're simply impacting progress.

As others mentioned mattress is KING. I bought a Bear Hybrid mattress that's designed for big guys and I will never buy a different style of bed again.
