To answer the questions. Which are fair. Should you use a different address, etc.
For what it's worth, I bought stuff from CL and received it about a week before the shutdown. However, I also always make small purchases less than $200
-this was a local bust, so as far as we know now, the feds are not involved, but may become involved with the interstate trade, though I would think not likely. The most likely outcome is a local plea deal where they take all of the money & assets and they get small to little jail time with hefty fees and long parole/probation
-unless the logs show someone buying like $5k a month or every week or something, they are likely to spend literally zero resources on you. other than putting evidence into storage will likely never look at your name or address again
-but if you have any concerns, there is nothing wrong with taking a little break from purchasing and/or using a different address to receive items.
-in the event you have a missing package and get a letter, simply throw it in the trash and do not attempt to get your package. let it go.
-if you are hand delivered something you are supposed to sign for, simply do not. Don't answer the door, or reject package and say wrong name/address
The most likely scenario is that you could make a purchase from another vendor today, shipped to your same address, and have zero issues. But if you have any reservations, simply stay clear and/or follow the advice above.
When it comes time for me to re-up on some things, I will simply purchase what I need from another vendor and have it shipped to me and not really give it much thought.
