I am on TRT and today was my first day back in the gym in months. I’ve eaten like shit due to some dumbass breakup. I’m good now.

My question is pretty simple. Is a low-fat eating regiment detrimental to someone who is on TRT or cruising? I ask because I’ve read that fat levels are associated with hormonal balance, but, I have exogenous test so I’m confused..

My plan is basically a shit on of rice, sweet potatoes, chicken, tilapia, sardines, egg whites, salads and protein powder all at < 70g fat per day..

I also plan to bump the test from 160mg/week to 180mg/week and possibly up to 220mg with anavar to recomp.. not sure how long this low fat thing will last. I really like butter, whole eggs, and 2% milk.

70 grams of fat per day is substantial. I don't know exactly, it obviously will depend on a lot of factors: current weight and lean tissue included. I've gone down to 40 grams for a 2 or 3 months once during a cut a long time ago (before AAS) and had a cheat meal once a week. I would think if you went lower than 40 and did not have sufficient healthy fats in place you would start to run into some problems eventually.

Jesus Christ, 40 grams? Well…how was the cut?

To be honest, I’ve never did a proper recomp/cut. I purchased a lot of chicken breasts today, a 25lb bag of quality rice, and plan to give this low fat thing a go..

Here’s my question: If two people cut on the same amount of calories, same body weight, routine, etc etc… will the one who eats drastically less fats shed more? If so, why?

I just keep thinking back to my IIFM days and do not want to repeat it, mainly for nutritional benefits, but the whole fat intake subject has me curious.

Eating healthy fats is your best bet, I get in chia and hemp seeds and supplement with flax and fish oils. On trt, you'll need the healthy fats to help balance HDL/LDL and total cholesterol. Hawthorn berry and citrus bergamot help, just don't get fats from fast-food too often.

It went well, I was really lean, but felt like I had been in a concentration camp weighing around 165 -170. That was a long time ago and was my first time dieting. A coach I had told me to drop the fats down that low and my carbs were somewhere around 100 while my protein was like 300 a day. It worked, but it didn't really feel good. I remember eating a cheat meal one weekend and literally feeling like my brain had been deprived of some nutrition for so long as I was eating some teriyaki that I just couldn't help but laugh. Weird sensation and I can't imagine what these pros are going through.

To answer your question: I do not know for sure. I would assume the person that ate less carbs would shed more fat, but I'm not sure and it probably depends person to person. I do not care to follow IIFYM anymore, weighing every little thing out and not feeling like I can go out to eat, as I know what works for my body and have a good idea of what I need. I will stay somewhat consistent by weighing some foods out, like rice and proteins, but I honestly enjoy eating out a lot too so I intuitively choose foods that can fit into this. When I'm trying to cut down, I pretty much start by halving all my carbs and making sure I get enough protein while making sure I'm not eating a lot of fatty foods like fast food, etc. I don't care to be "super shredded" anymore, although I understand the appeal and the addictiveness of trying to achieve the look and maintain it.

I think you have a good plan and will probably yield some great results following it. If at some point your progress is halting then I would start cutting down the amount of rice you are eating.
