INSULIN PROTOCOL? WHY?

I understand that insulin shuttles macros and that it’s used for larger carb meal. I also understand that if you eat fat, you’ll get fat. All this being said, I came into some novalog and started with 2iu after my larger post workout meal…

And I don’t have anyone besides y’all to discuss myself injecting hormones. So I’d really like to hear you guys’ protocol, rationale, and suggestions.

I do already have a glucose monitor, fast carbs on hand, nor live alone.

During mass phases I run 10iu lantus AM/PM to help with fasting glucose from HGH. Along with 10iu humalog pre & post workout with 100grams Karbolyn each.

During cut phases I drop the Lantus and run Metformin 500mg AM and PM. Then run 10iu humalog post workout with 100grams Karbolyn.

2iu of insulin won’t do shit for you… the goal with insulin is to enable your body to store super physiological amounts of glycogen… hell, 10iu is barely cracking it for me.

2iu is just a starting place, I know the normal starting point is 4iu for most people… how long have you been running insulin?

The normal starting place isn’t 4iu for most people, you’re thinking of HGH.

Your “starting place” isn’t doing shit for you. Your body will easily m produce that on its own when you take in those carbs.

With insulin, the normal starting dose is 1iu per 10grams of carbs. So, if your shake is 50 grams, that’s 5iu; if it’s 100grams, that’s 10iu.

How long I’ve been running insulin is irrelevant as there is no negative feedback loop; but to answer your question, a few years (however, my protocol has remained the same since the beginning).

Do your own research outside of this forum. Personally, I’d recommend taking a look at Milos Sarcev.

10-20iu lantus, just gauge it w blood glucose monitor, try to get bg fasted in the am below 90 ideally. Taper up and down as you want.

10iu humalog before the gym, intra shake w 100grams give or take, or you could do less. Rule of thumb is 1iu per 10 grams of carbs.

Post workout meal I’ll do 5iu.

Edit: this is pretty beginner and pretty average. There is other guys running way higher but you’d need to be eating like 600-800 carbs. At the moment I’m only eating like 450 on high days max. But I do 20iu lantus in the am to be able to get mine below 90 in the am.

I use insulin R around large meals and training nutrition, and a basal insulin in the morning for all day coverage to keep glucose under control while using HGH.

Look into John Jewett and research how to use insulin. Most insulin protocols people parrot on these forums are stupid.

Just use insulin like a diabetic would and you'll probably make the best results.

That’s what I figured. I take care of diabetics, that’s a good way to put it.

Update: 2ui of novalog is perfect of the 40g of carbs in my meals. I tried 4ui and went hypo and had to chug a cluster dextrin shake. Before you accuse me, I weigh out everything I eat. 1ui per 20g of carbs is perfect for me. Your body is already producing insulin, I’m just giving myself a little extra boost to take some of the burden away. I know it’s working too, because my bg goes back to normal and I get hungry again very quickly and I’m also getting crazy pumps. Taking 10ui and then slamming a cluster shake to match it makes zero sense to me.

If you went hypo, it’s because your timing was off. Log peaks in about 90min. No one is telling you slam 10iu and then a shake. If you had put the time into researching this properly; you’d take your 5ius, sip your 50 gram shake over the course of the next 45 min, then immediately follow up with a chicken and rice meal.

How about this… instead of coming onto a forum; asking for advice, and then debating it with people who are far more experienced than yourself… you do some research and find out what you’re doing wrong. As mentioned before; take a look at Milos protocol.

If that doesn’t sound good to you, feel free to continuing pinning your 2iu and getting absolutely nothing out of it. Yes, it’s clearing your blood glucose…. That’s it job. But no… it’s not helping you achieve any goals… including taking any burden off your pancreas at 2iu a day. But.. you’re clearly the expert.

Cheers.

Yeah I can see both sides of this w the insulin. You’re not diabetic so I’m not sure why that’s being used as a comparison here. 2iu might not be much like they said, but again your pancreas still works so if 2 iu does It for you after your meals then I would assume your probably not very insulin resistant so that’s a good thing.

Also you started by saying your taking 2iu after your larger post workout meals & then you said you were taking 2iu with every meal so I’m not sure which it is. Either way if you’re not getting the results or effects you want out of it then don’t use it.

I only use insulin when I up my food to where I’ll starting to get insulin resistance. 90% of the year I don’t use insulin & maintain a pretty solid physique between 235-255 with visible abs, and definition throughout my body. You 100% do not need insulin to get big, just keep that in mind.

Your literal “advice” was for me to take more insulin. “That’s not shit”, right? I took your advice and went hypo, then I came back here and said I’m good on that and why. Now your excuse is “no, your timing is off!” Bro, I have a glucose monitor and can read it. Then you talk down to me like I’m some jerk? Where do you get off? You’re not the insulin expert you think you are. Grow up.

I tried it first with a post workout meal. Now I’m using it with most every meal. Hopefully that illustrates a better picture.

No yeah, you don’t need it all. I just wanted check it out, see if and how I could utilize it.

I’d argue that I am the expert, given I’m able to take my insulin (any amount of it for that matter) and not go hypo… because guess what… I know what I’m doing!

And yes, I’m talking to you like a jerk.. because you came here for advice, got quality advice, clearly didnt do the research I suggested, then came back and said you went hypo off of 2iu… do you realize how bad you have to fuck up to go hypo off of 2 ius!? And you blame me and say I just told you to solve your issue by taking more insulin? What a joke. Let me further assist you here…. IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW MUCH INSULIN YOU TAKE… IF… YOU EAT ENOUGH CARBS AND TIME IT PROPERLY….Therefore… if you went hypo off of 2ius and 40 carbs… guess what… your timing is off! (As previously stated.. you’re welcome).

Now… to get the benefit of exogenous insulin, you need super physiological amounts… which you would know if you looked into Milos, as I previously suggested. Master your timing, then increase your carbs and insulin. If you decide to simply use 2iu… just stop. It’s not for you.

But tell you what, big guy.. I’m curious to see the type of guy arguing with me behind the keyboard….i took this nudie just for you. Let’s compare photos! I’ll show you just where I get off by talking to you like this because I KNOW just from your responses the type of guy you are.

Next time I’m going to Charge your ass for my expertise.

What else do I need to tell that I’m good off your advice? I tried it, didn’t work. If it works for you, great. No one asked for your stats, really not impressed. Just your average juicer. Go throw a fit somewhere else. You’re making it extremely hard keep this conversation classy & respectful.

Just your average juicer?

Well, do you make the cut? Are you just…. Average? Let’s see. My guess is that you are farrrr from “average”. And if that’s the case, instead of blaming those with experience, shut your damn mouth, and take the time learn a thing or two.

Personally, I don’t give a damn whether you take my advice or not… but; the fact remains; you ignored good advice, didn’t do your research, and then attributed your failure to others advice.

No fit here little man. I’ll check back to see if you had the balls to post a photo of your little 180lb fat ass, but I won’t be wasting any more time responding. Maybee one day if you do decide to open your mind and listen, you too can be “just average”.

Your handle is "tacobellbully" and you need to ask yourself, think anyone is going to take any thing you say or do serious? Timing is everything when it comes to insulin. Hnoestly insulin isn't something you should be messing with at the degree to which you've showed. Sorry if thats not something you want to hear, but this isn't for you or at least not at this point in time. Start focusing on learning the basics of understanding insulin and how it works and you'll have a better frame to work off from. I get it, this can be frustrating to hear all of this and grasp everything regarding the topic, but it is all for a very good reason as this has been a bit of a taboo topic when publicily speaking on it.

Theres reason why insulin protocols aren't or weren't publicly displayed on forms years ago, as there is a serious risk for those that dont have a fine understanding of it.

Not at all upset, I appreciate you being courteous with your response. And I do do research and I’m here to get some real time opinions. But it’s gotta be cordial, man. I get what he’s saying, I’m up to 6iu & 80g of carbs with this last meal. But you don’t need to talk to anyone like they’re an idiot because I didn’t explain myself well enough or I was straight up wrong. I’m here to ask questions. Better way to go about things.
