Hi guys,

I just turned 25 last week and plan to get some lab tests done to check my T levels. I think they’re probably pretty normal or above normal based on my sex drive.

I have been lifting since I was 18 with a focus on bodybuilding. Lately I’ve been running Jeff nippards push pull 6 day program. I started at 120 lbs bulked up to 220 and am down to 200 after cutting for the summer. I have great strength and drive in the gym but I just want to see what I’m capable of and feel like I could be ready for the next level.

That said I care a lot about my health. I’ve heard 25 is a good age to wait to, but now I’ve heard others say later? Either way I still have a lot of research to do so this isn’t immediate but would love some feedback.

Also from an OPSEC perspective as a user / buyer, how likely is it that I will get in trouble or caught?

It's your body, do what you want as long as you can accept any consequences.

No, it's not likely you will get busted.

If you feel comfortable with it, could you tell me a little bit about your personal experience with AAs? Would you go back and do it again for the first time? What age? what would you do different?

Hello. Is 25 too young? Generally, the later, the better. You seem level headed about it. Keep researching. How's your diet? Ideal to have everything dialed in and habitual for at least a few years before starting gear.
Will you get busted? Highly unlikely but not impossible.
Stick around and learn from the trials are errors of others.
Good luck.

I personally think 25 is a bit young, but it’s also the age where I think it’s not immediately a horrible idea. If you have a few years of disciplined training and nutrition behind you, and your progress has stalled despite real attempts at optimizing… your body, you do you.

My first use of AAS was after a shoulder injury in my early 30’s. I had already broken my right shoulder and rehabbed it naturally. When I broke the left shoulder, I wanted to accelerate healing as much as possible, so I looked into steroids. Did my blood work before starting, learned I was borderline hypogonadal already, and have never looked back.

Only regret is, very early on, I bought from vendors who were sketchy and used products that didn’t have recent analytical testing. That caused a few issues I was able to reverse, but I shouldn’t have taken that risk.

I track my macros everyday minus a busy day here and there. I eat around 2,800 - 3,000 calories maintenance. I shoot for 250g - 350g of carbs, 80g -90g of fat, and 230g -270g of protein.

Thank you for your response!

I really appreciate this detailed response. Im giving it a long hard thought before pulling the trigger. I do feel like I’m still making decent strength and body progress so maybe I can keep going a couple more years before I switch to the “dark side.”

I guess starting with a blood test is really the best bet to get a feel for if I have any issues like you mentioned.

~7 years now, I'm in the top 200 in my 'sport' worldwide and soon to be top 70 so I guess it was worth it but I was already a very strong natural and had done 4 years of MMA prior to really getting into lifting for the sake of lifting so I had a good athletic base, training discipline, explosive power and many other things burned into me from that. There's no real purpose to the size or strength I have and I'm not a career 'fitness influencer' or some shit so I do not get paid for what I can do or what I look like so idk I have a lukewarm feeling towards it all. QOL is probably better than it would be at this age if I wasn't on gear, but who knows for sure. I don't honestly think anyone should get on this shit unless they're planning to make a run at the top level of a sport or other athletic/gym based endeavor and have a realistic chance of making it based on where they're already at naturally.

Understand that performance ENHANCERS will ENHANCE your existing abilities and body but you can enhance the fuck out of a turd and it's still a turd. Be honest with yourself because a fuck ton of dudes have experimented with these drugs just to spin their wheels, lose their hair, develop health problems and possibly shorten their lifespan because they had a shit base and shit training ethic/knowledge and thought some shots and pills would just provided it all for them. Performance ENHANCERS, not performance PROVIDERS. Remember this.

Awesome response. Thank you for taking the time to be real with me about what these drugs are.

Really appreciate the feedback and advice I found here too. One of the reasons I love the fitness community

Just don't go around bragging to everyone and you'll be fine. Had a guy in my location that too would approach every one and start talking about the gear he was on and lead into trying to sell to them. He got kicked out of the gym and an officer that went to gym spoke with him.

25 isn't too young by any means, also.
