So basically I've been having low back pain for about a week. It started with a whip feeling in the muscle while I was washing my teeth lol.. Of course I can't work out and it fucks my regular routine to the point where it bothers being on my feet

Any tips to relieve this? A particular stretch or movement, a particular drug.. any advice can help. Thanks!

Find the painless range of motion and work in it normally, even if this means doing weird partial reps.
Gradually stretch into the painful range of motion with no weight or very small weight (cable stack first plate, 2.5lb dumbbells)
Over time you'll notice the painless ROM increases and the painful ROM decreases until it's all painless again.

Without more specific info or a picture of the injured area or hands-on time with you it's hard to really say what else could help. If it's debilitating pain preventing normal daily life routines you need to just bite the bullet and see a doctor. Local sports medicine practices are your best bet, just find a doctor who looks like he lifts.

Best not to seek medical advice from strangers on the internet. Back pain can have any number of causes. We all get aches and pains that resolve with rest and maybe some ibuprophen. But if pain or limited mobility persists, I think it's best to get it checked out by a Dr.
I hope you get well soon.

It could be a multitude of reasons, but I will share my own experience in alleviating back pain. First, stretch - not just in the vertical plane of motion. Here's an example
- tight hips can be a major issue with mobility. I would also strongly encourage improving your core strength (including obliques) with exercises that you CAN FEEL in addition to direct lower back work (hyperextensions, good mornings with very light weight, ect.). Finally, a GOOD chiropractor is worth their weight in gold (if you can find one). Hope this helps cause I know back pain sucks, but it is treatable and can be improved)

Definitely this….. understanding that you primarily use the lower body to stretch the back, not the upper torso, was the game changer for me. I used to always try to stretch my lower back with bends and twists of the upper torso and it most cases, that is actually making it worse….. using the legs (laying on my back and pulling bent knees up to chest) helps me to loosen my lower back the best.

You should see someone. But I am stuck on "washing my teeth"...wtf? Do people not say brushing their teeth in parts of the country?

Just updating, i'm much better now. Pain was probably to sedentarism and bad posture at the computer/videogames. Been off the gym for about a year but now returned very slowly and my back feels good!

by the way, I'm not from the US and english is not my native language, hence the word washing instead of brushing my teeth lol.
