Having money enter the game changes it in favor of sources and away from transparency. If the site owners are literally paid by the sources, they are incentivized to keep them on the board and paying, whether or not they are selling bunk proviron or whether or not repeated roid tests show anavar to be stanazolol. They will be protected by mods whether or not it is in the best interest of members.

The character of the board changes from one that holds sources accountable for our fucking health to one that becomes an echo chamber band of brothers where members say “stfu bro it’s good2go the source and the moderator just confirmed, all the sources on here are trusted sources bro”.

You see what I’m saying? When sources become patrons of site owners they can manipulate discussion in favor of their continued mutually beneficial exploitation of our trust. Even in the face of photo evidence. And I know the game, all this shit is illegal and I’m sure there is LE everywhere but what drives me craziest is that nobody will just fucking be real about what they are doing.

This is a valid concern, and one we’ve discussed on our end as well. When we originally set up on Reddit there were no costs. We were freeloading off Reddit’s hosting, we didn’t need to do much in the way of web dev work, all it required was labour. Then obviously costs came into the picture when we moved off of (forcibly, not at our will) Reddit. Most recently these costs have increased quite a bit just due to the fact that bad actors want to see SST go down in favour of increasing/maintaining the market share of their userbase. It’s a dilemma. If you have suggestions on how to manage these costs, I’m all ears. If you feel you notice a difference in tone of the Admins or how source issues are handled, I encourage you to speak to it. Anyone is free to speak their mind.

This forum continues to thrive specifically to address the concerns you’ve listed. Since the outset we’ve maintained certain principles, we want to our users to be able to access the most trustworthy products at the best prices, in the interest of harm reduction. There will never be a “this source is good to go” from the Administration. There is no permanency to any source’s status here.

I think anonymous donations are good. Maybe if there was a publicly visible pot that kept getting filled until “goal reached” for the cost of the site, that would be a fair way for the members to anonymously upkeep the site without sources and mods becoming business partners. Thanks for your replies. It’s also just about the culture of the board and the people that post on it. If they want to do the circle jerk thing then that’s fine but I’d only order test from sources since you can blood test for it. I’m not saying all sources are out to fuck over their customers or be dishonest but they are running businesses. If I could count all the times my restaurant lied about our chicken being “air chilled free range” when it’s actually from Tyson…I’d be rich. They have to sell a product and sometimes what the customer don’t know won’t hurt em.

So it’s up to members doing roidtesting and blood testing and being mature. We all know the game.

Tried looking into …albeit briefly. Would definitely like to donate what i can to the community been around since the reddit sst days. I had to switch up my user name, im guessing it had to with the recent site switch. Couldnt log in with my old name no matter what I tried. This place is great and I want it to stay around as long as possible. If any mods can point me in the right direction so i can give back, that would be cool…

Shit just saw the bitcoin address at the top…it’s early .
