Found two papers that I think detail the process rather well. There is still more research I need to do but this is gives me a really clear path to follow. Also wondering if anyone here has actually tried to make testosterone this way

That would be cool. I’ve seen nilered so I know what you mean. The process seems rather simple too and relatively safe.

There's a semi-interesting book that is essentially a compilation of patents. They're more on the synthetic chemistry side than this paper, but an interesting enough read if you have access to reagents and a lab.

Cost-wise, though, way too expensive when you can buy good stuff everywhere.

That is true, but really what you need is SODD and access to an appropriate microbial transformation organism. Plus some lab equipment. Trying to access and pick a good microbe is a challenge but the good news is it just might be in my compost pile outside. Would need to isolate it though.
