Blood work before 1st cycle

Looking to do a test only 500mg/wk 15wk blast and use AI as needed. Maybe add in hCg at the end.

Im finally able to travel to a state where I can get private bloods done, so I got this list from somewhere for pre-trt bloods.
What bloods are recommended to get done, and any from below that I don’t need?

• CMP, CBC, Test Free and Total, Estradiol sensitive, DHEA sulfate ,TSH, PSA, LH, Sex hormone binding globulin, IGF-1, lipid panel.

Also does any of these tell me thyroid function?

You definitely don’t need DHEA. IGF-1 is good to know, but also not a need for pre cycle labs. PSA is debatable, but if you’re an older guy it’s probably worth checking before you start…not a need though.

If you’re checking TT and FT, you don’t need to check your SHBG. If you were only measuring your TT, then SHBG would be more important.

TSH is a basic measure of your thyroid function. A thyroid panel will include a handful of thyroid specific tests, but there’s nothing wrong with just checking your TSH, and only ordering a more in depth thyroid panel if your TSH result looks wacky.
