I want to go to get bloods asap but as Ive always gotten then through referral from a doctor Im not sure how it works to be honest for this.
I was looking at quest Labs which is close to me and they have questdirect where you dont need a referral, but they only have a testosterone test and not estradiol test, which is really what i need.

How do you usually go about it? Get a referral from your PCP, endo, or an online direct test company? Or do you just walk into quest and say I want these tests?

Id rather not go through the doctor - does anyone have any reccomendations for online testing companies that arent too expensive?

I go for the online test method. It is really simple, easy, costs very little (compared to my normal co-pays), and way less hassle having the results emailed to you directly than trying to get them from your doctors office. I will give you a walkthrough assuming you are in the US:
  1. Pay for the Test, depending on what you want. I normally use privatemdlabs.com, and I would buy http://www.privatemdlabs.com/lab_tests.php?view=search_results&show=2372&category=14#2372 as it is the best bang for your buck IMO - Total Test (actual value if over 1500ng/dl), liver values, lipid values, thyroid, IGF, comprehensive panel, and Estradiol (if not on tren; if you are on Tren, you need to buy the sensative version or it will be very inaccurate).
  2. Wait a few hours and they will confirm your tests and send you a form to print out. Print out this form.
  3. Schedule a bloodwork draw at a local place. They have a list of places on privatemdlabs, but normally any local LabCorp works.
  4. Go get your blood drawn at LabCorp and bring the paper. It should cost you $0 and you should not have to give them any insurance information. If they ask you for insurance information, tell you the bloodwork is already paid for, which can be confirmed on you paperwork. The whole process normally take 15-30 mins, but has taken up to an hour in the past for me.
  5. Wait a few days and the results will be emailed to you. You will have to log into privatemdlabs to access the results.
Whole process normally costs $50-$250 depending on tests and takes 3-7 days. If you haven’t got your results in 14 days IIRC, you can email them about it.

Thanks, i was looking at private MD labs and that test, but I recall reading everywhere the you want the “sensitive” estradiol test? Im not on tren, just test e, trying to find whether my E2 is high or low. If thats sufficient though, then awesome as that isnt too much.

What about this test?

I know it doesnt gave cholesterol and a few other things, but it has the sensitive assays for e2 and test.
Im not sire how important the e2 sensitive is, but that is what i need to find out.
Id also like to see my test levels exactly.

That test would be good if you are on Tren or Deca.

Since you are not on Tren or Deca, your prolactin will most likely not be high. If you want to get it checked anyway, go ahead.

Since you are not on Tren, you do not need to get your sensitive E2 checked. Tren shows up as E2 on the regular test, that is why you want to get sensitive E2 tested when on Tren. Since you are not on Tren, normal E2 will give you fine results. Sensitive E2 will also give you accurate results, but it isn’t needed.

The reason you would want to get your lipids tested is because you want to see if Test is negatively affecting them. Lipid values are serious, and they can give you a good idea of how blasting Test is affecting your health. Not a HUGE deal early in your cycle, but I would recommend getting them checked over your prolactin or sensitive E2.

Overall, I think the test is fine if you want to do it, but there are probably better options based on what you want. Normally, pretty much everything is relative, so you would need earlier bloodwork to compare it too. It is still good to get things tested, but if you don’t have bloodwork to compare it to, you don’t know if blasting Test is causing a value to comeback high or if you had a high value before starting Test.

https://www.privatemdlabs.com/lab_panels.php?view=all&show=1032&category=14&search=#1032

This one is commonly recommended if you are just trying to get E2 values because it is cheap. But, if you are blasting test and have a high value, it will just give you >1500ng/dl for your Test values and not the exact value.

Ahh okay, i didnt realize the sensitive was only necessary for tren since i see everyone saying “make sure its sensitive test” regardless. Im going to go with the first one you mentioned that has the lipid panel.
I do have pre-blast lipid panel/metabolic function bloodwork, just not test or e2 levels.

Thank you, i appreciate it!

You absolutely need the sensitive estradiol assay despite not being on Tren. Labcorp and Quest specifically state that the sensitive test is designed for use in males, and that the standard assay is designed for use in females.

There is ample research showing the shortcomings of using the standard estradiol test, and even more anecdotal evidence confirming it’s inaccuracies. The standard estradiol test can be wildly inaccurate. Many here can attest to that.

I’ve had results differ by 20 pg/ml between the 2 tests.

Just wanted to chime in to save some money you can use the promo code MARCH2019 . If you sign up for their newsletters they send one pretty much every month for 15% off.

Thanks, Im going to see if I can have them change it to the sensitive assay on that test just to be safe, as I really want to be able to put a definitive number to how Im feeling so i know for the future

Would you guys recommend labsmd?
This test has both estradiol, ultrasensitive AND test LC/MS, and its also cheaper.
https://labsmd.com/tests.php?view=category_result&show=2451&category=14&search=#2451
LabsMD is good if you’re looking to use Quest instead of Labcorp. Just depends which lab is more convenient for you to use.

PrivateMDLabs has that exact same hormone panel, and it’ll actually be cheaper once you factor in their monthly discount coupon.

Pretty sure the discount code RHINO still works for 15-20% off too, don’t have to do anything either (on privatemdlabs)
