Tried to donate blood today and the nurse said my hematocrit is 38 and the cutoff is anything under 39. No wonder why my blood pressure is so low 97/63. I don’t understand how my hematocrit is so low while being on 600mg Test E and taking iron/beef liver supps. Mind you my RBC count is 6.11. This is mind boggling. Anyone know a fast way to raise hematocrit. My doctors appt isn’t until June 1st. I’ll be requesting iron injections, electrophoresis, colonoscopy, anything else? I’m thinking of injecting EPO or iron myself. Anyone know a source that carries iron or EPO

Be careful injecting iron yourself. You must use a “Z” method to inject, and do it properly. (YouTube it). If not done properly you will permanently stain yourself around the area you inject into.

Also, EPO only works after serum ferritin is raised to a high enough level. I forget the numbers exactly. But you will have to inject iron and get bloods done to monitor serum ferritin. Without adequate ferritin, the EPO will not make more red blood cells.

Source: Me. Was into long distance sports for a while. Wasted 6-8 bottles of EPO without knowing why it wasn’t raising my hematocrit.

My body makes more red blood cells without even raising my ferritin.

Like I said before- you should drop your test dose, and you should get checked out for celiac disease.

@“Imissthesub” How would dropping my test dose help!? And if so what dose what you recommend. I wanted to finish this 15 week blast before I start my cruise. But my energy is terrible. I will get checked out for celiac disease as well.

I think you’d be fine with keeping your test dose at what it is, I think @“Imissthesub” is just suggesting you lower it to ensure the test doesn’t mess with any levels that might be important for health readings.

I was suggesting lowering the dose because your RBC is quite high. Honestly though if I were you I would drop to a cruise dose or just come off until you figure out what’s going on.

DO I REALLY HAVE TO BE THE ONE TO TELL YOU NOT TO INJECT IRON OR EPO ON YOUR OWN W/OUT YOUR DOCTORS CONSENT?

If you’re showing any symptoms (dizziness, confusion, chest pain) go to the ER, let them know whats going on w/you and they can possibly treat you there.

You’ll still get referred to a primary/specialist but you may get a little something, at least fluids in the ER.

And 97/63 isn’t really that bad w/out symptoms. Plus, you need to take BP more frequently than just once to be considered hypotensive.

IMO, EPO isn’t the answer.

If you’re legit not feeling any symptoms, just wait for your appt or try to get a sooner one. People cancel all the time.

I’m honestly annoyed that people just go from one blood result to EPO like its nothing. Christ!

@“Imissthesub” My RBC Count is high from the iron supps I’ve been taking since October.
This blood work is from Late January while natty taking 2 iron tabs a day
I started my first cycle in Mid February lowered my iron tabs to one a day
As you can see, my dose hasn’t raised my RBC count, the iron supps did. I haven’t listened to my doctor and continued to take the iron supps. I think I am going to listen to her and discontinue and see what happens. I hear there’s detriments to too much iron as well.

@“DrTonyHuge” I see. My liver enzymes have increased. I am not sure if it’s mostly from the iron supps or the Test. I started the iron supps 7 months ago and iron can increase liver enzymes. Test can also increase liver enzymes. Iron supps make me feel really warm, test also makes me feel really warm. These two together make me feel HOT. I feel cooler after doing cardio which induces hemolysis. With that being said I think I am overloading on iron.

@“Checkmatelabs” I won’t be injecting iron or EPO without a doctor’s consent. I was just saying that out of desperation. I went to the ER and they say to take more iron. But I am already HOT AS FUCK, and that shit makes me even warmer especially now that I’m on AAS. I am just finding out that iron is a two edged sword, and I could be overloading which will showcase similar symptoms to low iron.

@“flashpass123” I’m relieved!

As far as you being warm, I don’t know what yore taking but it may just have to come with the territory. You should reach some sort of homeostasis with body temp eventually.

You didn’t know you had low iron until this and its really not that bad. You’re compensating fine and I really think that you should just wait or get a new appointment. I don’t think there is really a good answer that you will be pleased with. Be safe bud.
