"deep" IM

Why is the “deep” IM administration of steroids recommended always? AFAIK theres more chance of hitting a bein, more scar tissue, etc. Ive been pinning with 5/8th inch needles on quads and bloodwork shows literally no difference. Hell I know guys who pin with slin pins (and not sub q either).

Just one of those things that were commonly touted back when people thought gear couldn’t be shot/absorbed adequately subq I think. Either that or the goal is to minimize subq leakage. Not sure personally since I use slin pins as well(and I love them), but I can’t think of any other reasoning behind advocating deep shots.
