Since I starting shaving my head about a year ago, I’ve been wanting something more permanent. Anybody try laser hair removal on their head either at a clinic or a in home one?

I got a huge back tattoo, and prior to that i wanted to remove my back hair, I don’t have a ton, not an ape, but enough to be annoying/gross.

I did like 6-10 sessions of laser hair removal and it kept the hair away between sessions, and sessions are spread further apart as time goes, til like 6-8 weeks apart.

Then after the last session, eventually the hair all grew back.

Moral of the story is that LASER HAIR REMOVAL is not permanent and nobody every told me it was (I assumed)

The only permanent hair removal is ELECTROLYSIS. and if you want to read some good reviews and photos and stories about it, check out the website RealSelf.com there are even some crazy fucks who did electrolysis on their dicks and balls. IDK man, people are wild!

TL:DR Get electrolysis not laser hair removal

I was a Laser Tech that did hair removal and a lot of other laser procedures. Full disclosure this was over 10 years ago so information could have easily changed.

Not everyone gets the same treatment. The two biggest factors on effectiveness is skin tone and hair color. The lighter the skin the higher the power can be turned up on the laser without fear of changing skin tone permanently. Next the darker color the more effective the laser is.

Also the darker the hair the more painful it will be. The density of your hair will also add to pain levels. The more dense the hair is the more follicles are being boiled from the inside out at once. That being said I would expect the top of your head to be extremely painful.

Now the fun part your hair grows in cycles. These cycles depend on the body part and the person and have to be timed out very well. Someone who misses an appointment and comes a week or two later could miss that cycle completely so you might as well add another appointment to your treatments. Depending on the body part you can expect 4 to 8 or more treatments. Also it is almost never 100% gone. A best case treatment you will end up with a few stray hair here and there.

If you have dark skin you should expect to have to have more treatments because the laser has to be dialed down to prevent scarring. If the tech fucks up (and back in the day depending on the state there were very little requirements for this job, aka none) you could be looking changing the color of your skin in that area. Normally it isn’t the whole area just random patches and circles, looks awful.

If you have anymore specific questions I will answer what I can, but like I said this job was over 10 years ago and info might have changed.

Lectric Shave & a good electric razor ED or EOD

Scalp Micropigmentation might be something else to consider depending on your situation.

Fuck electrolysis and laser hair removal.

That’s all I got.
