Does anyone here deal with Bipolar disorder or any other mental illness? Just wondering if anyone has had depression / anxiety and AAS of any kind made your symptoms worse or better? Currently on a cruise and seeing the Doc Monday to get on some Meds again but I feel so damn manic/ hyper I can’t sit still. Testosterone Helped me with my depression (doc prescribed TRT) but I’m thinking it makes me more manic?

Just wondering anyone else’s experiences?!

i’ve been diagnosed as type 2 bipolar disorder, but i don’t currently take anything for it. in the past (like 15 years ago) i have taken depakote.

i got on TRT about three years ago and it helped a ton with my mood in general. tren has certainly made me more moody. definitely more prone to aggression. i get really pissed at strangers (eg walking down the street) lol.

other than that nothing else i’ve taken has had a negative effect on my mental stability/mood/etc.

After my wife left me (pregnant and not mine)and my younger brother got killed I went to therapists and psychiatrists to help with my depression and anxiety. The pills they gave me just made me suicidal and foggy. After a month and way too many close calls I went cold Turkey on the pills and ordered some test. Within 2 weeks almost all my " bad" thoughts were gone and felt totally different. Got back in the gym, my libido skyrocketed, and had the drive to start dating again. Been cruising for 5 years now and no chance of going off. Yes I still deal with the occasional depressed feeling but overall high testosterone just makes me feel better. Even if I didn’t go to the gym another day I would still take test. It’s hard for me to answer the anxiety question but if I had to answer I would say it has raised my anxiety but still tolerable. Now tren or halo makes me crazy and manic just because of the drugs. My 2 cents

I know this is an old post, but it's the first one I found related to AAS and Bipolar Disorder. This is when I'd kill to be able to work this out with my doctor honestly. On top of Bipolar I also have LowT (genetics, last Total-T test was around 90 ng/dl without TRT) and anxiety, Currently taking 400mg Lamotrigine every night, have been for almost a decade. However, ive noticed it doesnt seem to be keeping me where I should be, so that may have to change soon. As far as AAS I'm currently on Sustanon, Primobolan, and Dianobol with a little Arimidex to keep the aromatization of the Dbol in-check.

One thing I've noticed is that I do NOT get any of the mood-altering benefits usually associated with 25mg of Dbol; no "general feeling of wellbeing" or feeling unstoppable.

Ill work on adding more info later. I also have concerns about kidney stress because Lamotrigine is known to cause it on its own.
