AAS and healing

I either have intercostal neuralgia or a pretty severe intercostal muscle strain - possibly both, according to my doctor. I won't bore anyone with details unless they're wanted.

I was planning on moving into a mass building phase beginning in October but that seems to be off the table now and I'm bummed. Trying to figure out how to heal as quickly as possible.

I know that HGH is good for healing but not sure I want to go that route bc I'm not educated enough on proper use and how to make sure my natural production isn't compromised going forward.

I'm on TRT for life so not worried about natural production there. Would upping my test or adding in some anavar at a lower dose be helpful for speeding healing if it is indeed a muscle strain or tear? Or cartilage damage?

I know var has research for burn healing which is why I thought of it.

I have a couple vials of NPP on hand but I've never run nandrolone before. If that's a better option I'm open to hearing it.

Currently avoiding all chest and back work and only doing light arm and shoulder work as pain allows. Able to do lower body work that doesn't involve upper body or intense trunk stabilization, so things like leg press and leg and glute isolation machines.

Thanks bros

Is surgery not an option? A couple years ago, I tore my triceps (the lateral head, I think but could be wrong because I never got it looked at - stupid) and now have radial nerve compression. Basically, my index finger and sometimes thumb are just completely numb and can be irritating sometimes. Nerve flossing helps make it more manageable (YouTube if unfamiliar)

Anyway, in hindsight, despite regaining most of the strength in my triceps, if doing over again I would opt for surgery. I did the whole “‘maybe I’ll run BPC and whatever compound to mitigate the seriousness of it” but it ended up taking a shitload of time to feel semi back to normal. I thought I could bandaid this with cycles and different compounds but the reality is it took forever and I could’ve just remedied it with surgery in probably 1/2 the time.

Again, I don’t know the extent of your condition and what’s available to you, but if you’re limited that much as far as workouts go, bite the bullet and consider your options medically so you have a good outcome.

Damn, thanks for the sobering perspective. I really do appreciate it, even if it feels like a nut punch haha

I'm not sure yet what my options are. Its only been a few days - my doctor is wanting to give it a week or two to see how it feels when some of the acute inflammation has calmed down. I've had an issue with my mid back for years now and have tried to address it with physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, massage, all kinds of stuff. Kept training despite it, but I can't always feel the left side of my back. My doctor has suggested getting a nerve ablation procedure to at least get the pain signal to shut up, cause that's pretty much all you can do for an idiopathic neuralgia that's not responding to treatment.

Aaaaaand then I went and injured myself somehow. Kinda thinking it's the fact that I had a cough for a week because of allergies and was doing lots of pull-ups the day after a heavy chest day. Dr thinks I might have put too much strain on my intercostals since they were weak from coughing and then got stretched under load. I really didn't even realize that might have been the case, cause I felt good enough to be back in the gym so I just went and did my normal thing.

So yeah, currently it hurts to rotate my torso at all or to even really brace my core or activate my lats hard. I would love to avoid another surgery since I just had a major one last year to put my collarbone back together after I shattered it in a longboard crash. But if I end up getting an MRI and need a surgery I guess it's what has to happen.

Shit man, I feel for you then and can’t even make any kind of recommendation because that is entirely outside my scope of practice.

Nothing is more gut wrenching then not being able to train due to injury, and all kinds of other things but I wish you the best. Get yourself taken care of if able to.

Maybe it's time do do some more research than as HgH is the only thing I've heard of reliably good for healing improvement. Protein synthesis / collagen improvements are touted for anavar but real world doesn't seem to work out quite like that in my experience. Have seen quick rebound from injury with hgh though.

I've been trying to learn all I can in the past few days since a corticosteroid shot from the doc to knock down the inflammation only resolved some tightness but not the nerve issue. Ordered a kit of black tops and hope to feel confident enough by the time they arrive.

Update:

The HGH seems to be treating me well. Opti's black tops, 4iu (2am/2pm) EOD. no sides except its affecting some preexisting wrist pain (i have a cyst so it get irritated with increased fluid pressure).

Physical therapy is going OK. I have more functionality and strength is slowly coming back, but still lots of nerve pain. PT said that I can keep training around the pain.

I'm an idiot and went ahead and went through with my lowish-dose tren recomp plan, training high volume and really focusing on mind muscle connection and time under tension. It's actually been going really well, and I feel like I'm actually able to connect with muscles I haven't been able to in a long time bc of the pain. Time will tell. I really wanted to run this experiment on myself and am glad I am.

Insurance denied my MRI, but I'm learning how to live with the nerve pain for now and making progress again.

How goes things? I'm sorta in the same boat but having surgery for knee end of December. I'm currently on a cruise now of 100 Deca/200 Test/200 Primo, BPC/TB500. Doing labs at end of year. After surgery going to run same and add on 25mg Anavar daily
