Gents,

As I mentioned in an old post I’m currently suffering with an umbilical hernia that I really need to get fixed. Up until just recently it has been no trouble so I left it as it was. Unfortunately it is now starting to cause me pain and grief and is buggering up my training. I’m looking to have surgery just after Thanksgiving giving me a good chance to heal up as I normally also have a couple of weeks off work between Christmas and New Year.

Question then, I want to get the best use out of a big bulking cycle straight into the New Year. Is there anything that I can take to help speed up the healing process. Reading so PubMed stuff it seems that Var is really useful at speeding healing. I was also thinking a limited cycle of HGH?

No real good steer on the amounts so was thinking Var at 50mg and HGH at 4iu daily. Does this seem reasonable? Am I missing anything else or is anything else better?

Umbilical hernia shouldn’t take that long to heal.

I had a big hunk of meat removed from mine and got a new belly button. About a month of healing tops.

You have to roll over and scoot out of bed face down, you can’t use your abs at all because it hurts. After two weeks you’ll be back in they gym lifting. You’ll be doing planks to strength core fairly quick. No real risk of another blowout if they do it right.

Mine exploded doing sit ups, shot blood all over the wall, got infected and I went in for surgery fairly quick.

Look up episode 303 of Jay Ferrugia’s podcast with Dr Kirk Parsley. Some interesting stuff in there, he’s a doc for SEALS and a former SEAL himself. He talks about how he puts those guys on supraphysiological levels of test, hgh and a few other things before they have a surgery and for a few months after, during recovery, and has noticed really good results.

I’ve run a lot of anavar, and I’m a big believer in its efficacy, but really haven’t noticed a healing boost from it. At least nothing that differentiates it from other AAS.

I don’t know for sure, but just through forum osmosis it seems like therapeutic doses of test that put you in high normal or just in the supra-physiological range+HGH is the PED way to enhance healing.

The article that I found on Var healing wounds is here

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/10810035/

According to rat trials a statistically significant increase in healing was recorded. That’s what got me thinking
Ok Einstein if Oxandrolone was given orally by gavage in peanut oil at a dose of 0.1 mg/kg/day …how much is that for a 200 lb rat
…I tried math. Hard. Think it says 1mg per 200 lb basically…ok nope, read it wrong, its .1 x 1kg I think so .1 x 100 (200lb) =
10mg?

Yes I’ve seen data saying Oxandrolone helps with healing and stuff, I’m saying that in my experience that I haven’t noticed anything appreciable from running it at varying doses (25-100mg a day). Also haven’t seen other anecdotal reports of it doing anything noticeable. It’s your money, and it works well for lean gains and strength, but don’t expect much from it in the way of healing.

Do I have an umbilical hernia? No. Do I have a bunch of niggling injuries from lifting weights? Yes.

Hey I’m fully with you there @“nlite2k” How do I know I’m a weightlifter? Well everything hurts just about all the time!

I was joking with my wife about the other day. Apparently exercising is good for you, I can squat 500lbs but getting up from a chair for the rest of the week is like watching a baby giraffe taking its first steps!
