RU works well to prevent DHT related hairloss.
RU can’t act systemically. It only affects DHT that comes directly in contact with it. It’s nothing like Finasteride or Dutasteride. It’s not even like minoxidil. It also has a 1 hour half-life. By the time it penetrates your skin to reach the bloodstream, it’s almost totally degraded into nothing.
This is purely a nocebo effect, that plenty of people will themselves to have on a host of drugs, but hair loss drugs in particular.

Note that the placebo group experienced a higher rate of erectile dysfunction than the group actually taking Finasteride.
However, I don’t know if your anavar shed is actually permanent hair loss, or just TE. Tren for instance causes both. Even if you prevent permanent hair loss with RU, you will almost always get a shed with Tren. But that’s a TE shed and that hair comes back. RU58841 will only prevent permanent hair loss. It doesn’t prevent TE.
Anyway, I’ve had good success with both RU58841 and Dutasteride with no notable side effects. Of course I’m also not a hypochondriac. If you are a hypochondriac, understand that hair loss drugs will ruin your life. Not chemically, but your nocebo will be overwhelming. Simply believing you’re taking a hair loss drug(even if it’s really a sugar pill) will cause brain fog, erectile dysfunction, and thoughts of suicide. Please don’t use RU58841, Dutasteride, or Finasteride if you’re a head case.
