So I’ve had my frs for like 2 years now. I have had my 2 12’s in the back for about over half of the time never had any issues. As of lately I’ve been having to jump my shit had road side come and check my shit and told me it was like .1 of a volt under what was needed to turn over. I’ve had the battery checked and the alternator both are supposedly good I honestly wouldn’t know any better. I also checked with some local audio places n they made me feel like they didn’t know a damn thing cuz both places gave me different answers . So I’m looking for any bassheads here , what’s your input on my problem ? Will a capacitor fix this ?. Appreciate any and all input my G’s.

Check and make sure your Amp is turning off when ignition is off… 2 years and never a problem now ots a problem… . I look at that first…
Capacitor is like a power pack… helps take load off battery under a heavy load… if.you went 2 years with no problem… then cap isn’t the fix… ran fine for 2 years without a cap.
Something is drawing power after you turn ignition off…is it dead first thing in the morning?

@Forthewin1123 it was just kinda dead here and there like short drive not enough charge from alt. But it’s only increased in frequency over the last week or so the last like 3 days goij g to work and leaving I’ve had to jump it with this self jump shit I bought.

@Jswole99 i would get your alternator and battery tested again…and make sure Amp is off when key is in the off position…
Make sure battery terminal are clean and tight… it’s something simple that just happened… alternator or bad connection… with everything working properly your alternator can keep up with good amount of electricity draw over stock… your system isn’t over 2000 watts amp…I assume? Start getting over 2000 watts it can be a lite much depending on car…

@Forthewin1123 the Amp is a 1100 watt hooked up to a kicker enclosed box 2 12s, I’ll have to do like you said get them tested agian and check thw Amp when keys off position. My cousin was mentioning maybe I need a stronger battery? But like you said I need to check that Amp out because I don’t think a stronger battery will help if there is a constant power draw when off.

@Forthewin1123 I got off work a bit ago and popped the trunk to check if the Amp was on. It looks like it’s entirely powered off because when the car is on it has letters that light up blue on the Amp box and a power light aswell. 🤔

@Jswole99 you don’t need a stronger battery… I have ran 2 12s with 1200watt in a couple cars …regular battery…currently to JL 15s 2200 Amp… in a stock 2019 chevy traverse…

I believe either your battery old and gotten weak or your alternator isn’t charging properly…
A car uses the battery to keep memory in radio and ecu, also start the car…
Once car is running the alternator takes over and is charging as fast or faster then whatever the draw is.

Actually if the alternator was bad… tje car would die while driving… it’s drives fine …only when you shut it off and go to restart it… that’s the battery…
Get a new battery…
Because if the alternator was bad… the car would die while driving… a running car with lights and radio draw alot of juice… if your alternator was bad you would literally be driving and watch lights get.dim and eventually car will stall… drained tje battery… because the alternator wasn’t charging…
Your is the opposite… runs fine… won’t start with out a jump
… means weak link is the battery…
Hope this makes sense to you… basic operating systems on vehicles are simple… once you understand how it works

@Forthewin1123 honestly I don’t got the money’s for a battery and I’m fairly certain that’s the problem like u were saying. I got this little jump starter that I’ve been using for the time being pretty much scraping by right now good old cali living costs are fantastic

@Forthewin1123 yeah man shits rough , gas up to 5 something for 91. I think I could probably get a cheap bat for a bit over 100, but all the good ones I was looking at are like 240. I don’t really wana cheap out with car shit even if it is just a battery hahaha.
