Bitcoin exchange fees...

Figured this was a good place to ask. I used Bitpay many years ago and the fees were tolerable. I used bitcoin ATMs and a google voice phone number to deposit cash into my wallet. Typically it was $40 for the exchange. I deposited $400 into my wallet yesterday and the fee was $80. Well that cut into my purchase budget.

Wondering what everyone uses to make their purchases. Bitpay has the option to use a credit card. Thought about getting a prepaid card and using that. I steer away from exchanges and apps that ask for too much info. One asked for my phone, last 4 of social, address. This is what I want to stay away from if possible. Bitpay and the ATM doesn't require this info.

is this just something everyone eats when they do bitcoin or is there a better alternative (depending on source payment methods)

Any help would be appreciated. I want to take advantage of these sales if I can. I'm limited on what I can spend on my TRT.

Tanks

I'm banned from Cash app for using a VPN when logging in. So I am going to use exodus and just pay the fees. Lame.

Yeah I started to use that but its asking for a lot of info. I guess that's the trade off maybe
No one is going to care. You basically buy Bitcoin from an exchange and it sits in your wallet. They have no clue what you really did with it. Yeah you sent it to someone. They won't know what for. You're good man. I wouldn't worry

I use both BitPay and Cashapp. I buy with Cashapp since it’s honestly the easiest and most convenient way to buy, then I transfer the funds to my BitPay wallet to pay sources. It’s an extra ~$3 or so in fees but I get a tiny bit of peace of mind from not buying gear with a wallet attached to my bank account.

Soon you'll have to find a source that takes cash. There's really not many ways around verifying in the states and I am sure whichever method you are using is going to be forced into making you do so as well.

Don't forget. People invest in crypto. It's not that strange that you'd be buying crypto. Most investment apps have crypto investments. It's not like the old days. Crypto is mainstream.

Bitcoin exchange fees can vary significantly depending on the platform and payment method. Bitpay's credit card option might be worth considering if it offers lower fees.
If you're concerned about sharing too much personal info, you might want to explore peer-to-peer (P2P) exchanges. They often allow for more privacy as you can directly interact with other users for transactions. Just ensure to choose reputable P2P platforms.
Also, have you ever looked into crypto mixers? They can help enhance privacy by obfuscating transaction trails. Ultimately, it's about finding the right balance between convenience, privacy, and fees when making Bitcoin purchases.

Some vendors accept western Union. BTC options that avoid kyc charge a premium for that service.
