Yeah if I’m using bitcoin to buy, even if I have bitcoin I buy more to use for that purchase and immediately make it.

Yeah, all the speculators have made BTC shitty to use as a currency. If you want your transaction to confirm sometime this millennium, you could be looking at a 25% or higher transaction fee, and even with high priority fees it still takes at least 20 min to confirm.

Vendors would be doing the community a service by offering alternative cryptos as payment options. I know many already do, but some are stuck on BTC. Monero offers the most security and transaction fees are low, but confirmations can still take half an hour or so. That seems ideal for internet purchases. For buying coffee and shit, you’d want to use something like Litecoin or Ripple where fees are low and confirmation speed is high.

Do any vendors on this site support the Lightning network for bitcoin transactions?

I’ve never heard of this, how does one support the lightning network? Maybe this is something you can educate our sources on

I’m no expert, but to put it simply it’s a layer built on top of the bitcoin protocol so transactions are faster and cheaper. I predict most businesses that accept bitcoin will adopt this within a year or two. The blockchain will only get more congested and expensive with time so this was a necessary solution (without resorting to shitcoins).

This is one of the reasons I’m so paranoid with BTC or any online coin. I buy & use same day almost always, as any of these things (even BTC or ETH) can change by the day or even hour.
