Yeah, all the speculators have made BTC shitty to use as a currency. If you want your transaction to confirm sometime this millennium, you could be looking at a 25% or higher transaction fee, and even with high priority fees it still takes at least 20 min to confirm.
Vendors would be doing the community a service by offering alternative cryptos as payment options. I know many already do, but some are stuck on BTC. Monero offers the most security and transaction fees are low, but confirmations can still take half an hour or so. That seems ideal for internet purchases. For buying coffee and shit, you’d want to use something like Litecoin or Ripple where fees are low and confirmation speed is high.
