Blood pressure control

Just curious on the topic and looking for knowledge and anecdotes.
2 part question for everyone.
  1. How do you guys control blood pressure? Supplements or medication and what are they?
  2. If you are on medication, what do you use, how did you go about it, and how do you monitor it?

I take Cialis, I also do some pretty intense cardio. I know most people probably disagree with that but it really helps keep my resting heart rate and blood pressure way down. I feel that it’s way better for health, and cyclists always have jacked legs so I have a hard time believing that hopping on the stationary bike will kill my leg gains. I don’t see any reason not too other than it sucks. I also take some slow deep breaths when I get stressed out, that shit also really really helps. I usually sit around 115/60 hr ~60bpm … granted I’m not a super huge guy but being 5’10” 200lbs I think I keep it under control pretty well.

I follow Stan Efferding’s advice when I started seeing my BP go up (130/75). I walk at least 10 mins after every meal. I am walking 10,000+ steps every day. I also take a Cialis every other day, just 5mg. I have a pretty clean diet and get plenty of salt and water in every day.

I take my BP every Saturday morning, and the latest check was 104/65 at 56bpm. My resting heart rate is 61, according to my watch. I started walking in September when my BP was 130/73 average, and I have seen great results from following Stan’s advice.

@Gbunk assuming you mean the medication, no doctor….

Check blood pressure 2x daily, add in the meds at low dose and taper up if needed until bp on average is good. Then just scale back to checking it 2-3x per week.

ReviveMD has a good blood pressure supplement. I also keep my fiber at least 30g/day and take citrus bergamot plus fish oils.
