Blood Pressure Medication: Source Recommendation?

Hey SST community - I’m looking for some BP meds that can help me get my BP in check while running testosterone. Water pills tend to be tough on the kidneys so I’m trying to avoid that, but not entirely closed off to the idea since angiotensin modulators are usually the type of BP med you can never get off once you start.

Does anyone have a recommended source?

Help on this would be greatly appreciated

No clue if it is legit, I have read it is, steroidify has BP meds. Although, what makes you say that about ace inhibitors or arbs? You should be able to wean yourself off them? Plus they may be your best bet for sexual reasons, they rarely cause ED 1% chance I believe. Beta blockers = ED+Tired+low HR possibly, CCB like norvasc same type of problems as Beta blockers. Diuretics also have the potential for ED and can really mess up your electrolytes, if you run a high dose they could effect kidney functions too. Needless to say you should also NEVER take ED meds with these bp meds since they can work synergistically and kill you.

Alternatively, I have used taurine supplements before they have lowered my bp throughout the day ~10 points when I take it at night, since it can cause drowsieness. Sauna has helped too ~20 points systolic and 10 point diastolic.
How bad is your BP on test?

Thanks for the reply!

I was always told (even by doctors) that when you start angiotensin meds it’s almost impossible to regulate BP on your own after that.

I don’t take ED meds

The only interest I have in beta blockers is due to how adrenaline-prone I am; my body producers too much adrenaline and I think that might be where my bp sides could be coming from ( since my HR is always elevated; even resting HR)

I’ve been taking taurine for a while now and it helped at first but now it doesn’t and I use the sauna 3-4 days out of the week.

My BP has been running 145/85 - 150/90 for a little bit now

Fair it generally is hard to stop all bp meds because of re-bound hypertension etc. risks (I was on aces for about a year during college (super stressed career path) and I jumped off of them no problem) I think if you wean down though depending on the dosage you should be fine. How high is your RHR? CCB can decrease HR+BP and have a little less chance of ED and tiredness than Beta blockers. CCB also dilate the coronary arteries and arteries in general decreasing after-load this decreases strain on the heart a little too.

I think that you know your body and it is your decision 100% if you want that HR decrease with decreasing bp fine. but Ace inhibitors low dose would help the bp, they are kidney protective, low chance for ED, and work as a very mild diuretic.

Again you know your body but beta blockers aren't all that great for bp, they will lower it because it decreases contractility of the heart but not like Ace inhibitors or CCB. which actually may be best for you since your bp doesn't have that far to lower.

I would caution you to be very careful about HR while on beta blockers hr <60 = hold it bp <110/<65 I would also hold it man.

Start low dose see how it effects you. I had bp in the 170/105 range and took 5 mg of lisinopril my bp dipped to ~100/50 I felt like shit, started taking 2.5 mg and bp were cruising at 110-120/65-75. know the peak of your meds and take you bp at that time usually 4-6 hours after taking them. Be safe man!
