Blood Sugar and Humalog v. Novolin R

So I ordered Humalog pens, and depending on my conclusions I am going to specify that I purchased the pens from Turkish Pharmacy Steroids. I messaged the vendor he was a complete and utter *sshole. I think he needs therapy. Anyway.

I have only up to this point used Novolin R insulin purchased from Wally World. Now, If I administer 5iu subq on an empty stomach, I can experience symptoms of hypoglycemia such as sweating, confusion, and a sugar craving that has made me do unspeakable things. This is reliably within 90 minutes of administration. Now, I picked up the pens of Humalog because I thought it was fast acting, but I have experimented with up to 20iu with no discernible effects. Now, this confuses me, and I am not accusing the source of selling bunk insulin. I am looking for an explanation, because my first instinct is to think that I'm missing something or that I am understanding the differences between the insulins incorrectly.

It is fast acting, hits in about 15 minutes. Peaks at 60-90 minutes. Should be taken about 15 minutes before a meal. That shit is probably bunk.

Ok this is what I thought. but, this is where I must be missing something. Yesterday I woke up and T+10 minutes after injection I was at 131. T+30 @ 105. T+90 @ 82. Now I was fasting, so idk how much my blood sugar would normally drop over same time frame. It seems weak for sure. But that’s not what confuses me the most.

The Novolin R from Walmart can make me feel like I’m going to pass out and pretty fast. But the Humalog even when I mega dosed it at 35iu the other night and my blood sugar did drop I still never felt the same imminent passing out or diaphoresis. Is there something fundamentally different about these types of insulin that I am missing?

Differences are how quick they act, Novolin being fast and Humalog even faster, peak times and duration, but I figure that Humalog is not the real deal. Megadosed Humalog fasted should fuck you up. I’d try a different Humalog source and compare.

My humalog is pharma & has a distinct smell to it.
If I pin more than 7-10 iu after abt 120 g pre meal 20 g intra workout carbs HBCD then I’ll be in the 70s by time I get home from the gym.

I mean is Humalog kwikpens from Turkish pharma steroids. He just told me to F off when I brought it up.

I’m gonna pin the novolin and check my sugars too and then do it without taking any insulin. To see how much it goes down over time.

Pin a couple iu’s fasted pre cardio and if you don’t go hypo during it something’s definitely up lol not the safest way but a guaranteed way to find out.
