Any one use btc today? How was it ? Looks like it's super fucking backed up right now.

It can be useful for gauging current fees. Sometimes before a large transaction I'll check to see what the txn fees are looking like. If medium priority fees are something like 30 sat/vB then I don't think about it much. At >300 sat/vB as of this message, I would hold off on any large transfers.

You're right that no one can say for certain when the fee rate will drop to a certain level. That being said the rates are highly variable and don't tend to linger at this high fee rate for long. If you look at some graphs of the recent rates you will find that in the last week they have had days where they roughly quintupled before dropping back down to low/mid double digits again. These spikes fade, especially on weekends at odd hours.

Holy crap! I ended up sending a $110 the slowest free way and took almost 20 hours or so.

My biggest concern with sending the cheapest way is if the price of BTC goes down, I still lose. It sucks either way. I usually send $20 extra just in case the fees or price fluctuation goes against me.

Is there a way to find out the fee before sending it? I usually send more than the amount and hope for the best.
