Career thoughts? HR

KingTest

What up guys. Got a job offer as a HR coordinator, out of college. I got a BS in business and this seems like a good field as HR is present in all industries. The earning potential is also huge with proper education and experience.

Anyone have thoughts on this career? Please advice before I begin down this path.

Get it, get experience, save money, figure out the next steps as you’re learning and then gtfo and do your own thing in life.

You’re welcome.

Agreed. Save / Invest that money and then GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE RAT RACE.
Rat race aint that bad when you are slow and steady, no? Doing your own thing brings forth huge hussles aswell. Its all work, as long as you have a life/work balance I guess.

Both of what you said shows how young you are. You actually think I aspired to be a source as an end goal? lol.

Find out what you like in life. It may take time and what you like now will probably change but thats okay, too. And you’re not a lost little soul, you’re just young and making excuses for being confused instead of figuring it out.

Checkmate is giving you some good advice. Big life tip I can give you is don’t make excuses. Find something and just do it. None of us planned to be sources, shit just happened and that’s the road we went down. You can still make money like us legally being self employed if you go for it and not make excuses about why you can’t. Maybe you can handle being in a rat race, but it’s always worth it going through huge hussles to retire in your 30’s while your friends and family won’t get a chance to retire until 60’s or possibly never.

“it’s always worth it going through huge hussles to retire in your 30’s while your friends and family won’t get a chance to retire until 60’s or possibly never” This is the fucking goal. Thanks for the advise. You know, I dont find myself ever making excuses, I just dont know where to focus all my drive towards. Im all over the place. I guess that comes with time, the whole figuring out thing.

I mean Im not really making excuses, how does one figure out what to do in life? I been applying to all jobs doing side gigs here and there and trying to figure it out but I have yet to understand what to truely devote my drive to. I know I am driven enough to surpass anyone and out workanyone.

Thank for the advise, hope i didnt offed you. I actually like that you are balling as a source, thats cool, more power to you for retiring early.

I used to really want to be a bodybuilder then I realized pinning grams is fucking stupid and ego-manic weird shit. Now its just the goal to be like those fit dads that look like Mens Fitness type, trt and occasional orals. Anyways now that I become way less obsessed with lifting and more with the whole rat race and retiring by 40, thats where my excuses come from, idk wtf im gonna pursue. For now this HR job looks good. Back in my internship the HR director made 140k so why the fuck not go into that field. Ranting

No offense taken brother; I would tell you to find something that you truly love doing and devote time to that only if it makes bank. You could love art, but if it makes no money you still have to have a main job. If your goal is to retire young, then you’ll have to hustle hard, live below your means and invest all you can. I don’t have any experience in the HR field, but the director you mentioned making 140k, how long did it take him to get there? If he spent all his life getting to that income, you can do better brother. I know guys in their 20’s doing that income legally with no help from their parents.

If the main goal is to retire young, pick a career that makes six figures relatively quickly and never overspend and always research and invest. If the goal is to be your own boss, that’s even easier if you put enough time in a online business for two-three years. The best part about that is, you can live anywhere in the world, while working on a laptop.

Yeah he took like 5+yrs to get there. The main goal is indeed to retire fast. If I was to choose careers like you state those would involve coding so I would have to go back to school. I think an online business is the way togo. I have been thinking of a few ideas I just need to have the balls to advertise it on IG and youtube and shit.

“I’m just a lost soul” Gayest excuse for anything, ever. But I digress.

You’re young. Take some chances, make some money, bang as many hoes as you can, take a course or two on self improvement and most likely, your hobbies or passions will come and if they don’t, than thats a shame but I’m sure you’ll be fine if you just man up 😉

Not busting your balls brother, but your above statement is what I meant by don’t make excuses. Just do it, and keep doing it and eventually things will work your way. If an online business is what you want to do in life 100%, start it now and don’t give up and thank us later. My advice to online business, is make sure you go into something their is actually a market for. If their isn’t a market for it, be confident enough to believe that you can build a market for it or do a different idea.

As a 22yr old, you dont know shhiiittt, lol. And I dont mean that as YOU dont know, I mean as a former 22yr old, I didnt know shit, and Im sure most of us didnt / dont. You are going to change and grow so much in the next few years (if youre SMART). Too many people get stuck mentally as the same person they were at 18, 19, 20 etc. Dont let that happen. The “Rat Race” can be soul crushing bro, clocking in and out, working for a company that you dont give a fuck about, showing up and doing a JOB. Life is always going to through hardships and tough situations at you. But you can DECIDE what they are. I say “find a way out of the rat race” not because its easy, in fact, its HARDER in many ways. But it will be more REWARDING than a random job could ever be.
But to be 22, about to graduate and already have a decent job lined up - youre clearly a smart and hardworking guy, youve positioned yourself well. Whatever job you take WORK YOUR ASS off at it, be the fucking best, be an asset, it will open unforeseen doors. It took me a long time to come to these conclusions, I actually went BACK to school and am in my 3rd of a professional degree as a 32yr old. And it sure as fuck isnt EASY, this is way harder than what I had been doing, but I dont hate my fucking life like I did lol. ( I didnt hate my life, I just hated every second of being at work). I have a much bigger vision of what I am going to do and WHO I am going to be. I work on it daily. It starts with a mindset man.
Here are some random sources to check out if youre into personal development (you should be)…
Jocko Podcast and Jocko’s books, MFCEO, Grant Cardone Podcast and books, Relentless by Tim Grover, MONEY by TOny RObbins, Ultimate Sales Machine, 48 Laws of Power, Roadside MBA, E-Myth Revisited, Leaders Eat Last, Robert Kiyosaki’s books, Bigger Pockers, Bigger Pockets Money show, Ed Mylett Podcast… thats about all I can think of off the top of my head… should keep you busy for awhile lol

What up guys. Got a job offer as a HR coordinator, out of college. I got a BS in business and this seems like a good field as HR is present in all industries. The earning potential is also huge with proper education and experience.

Anyone have thoughts on this career? Please advice before I begin down this path.
So my ex graduated with a minor in arabic and a a major in marketing. She then struggled for like 8 years with addiction. Got clean and started out part time HR work. A few years later she is making bank and doing recruiting for a major firm in a US city. She seems really happy.

Why the hell not? Try it out. Also, I am not trying to sound rude or anything, but like at 22-23 you are still a kid. I had a 25 year old (another ex…) call me and tell me something like “well back then I was naive, now I am old”. I just kinda laughed. Our brains do not stop developing until about 25. There is a thing called “emerging adulthood” in pyschology and social work and its a theory I believe in. Are you more mature then when you were 18? Sure. But when you are like 27 you will realize that you still had a lot to learn.

Life is about experience of all types. Its important to get and that doesn’t just go for work. Also, hate to break it to everyone here, but its difficult to become a pro BBer or fitness model. Don’t fuck yourself up trying to run grams of gear.

Not busting your balls brother, but …
Jesus you fuckers need to figure out how to reduce the extreme length of quotes in your posts.

Not busting your balls, just sayin

Freedom doesn’t have to come from sourcing or high risk pursuits. Get a few years experience in whatever game interests you, then use that experience to figure out how to do that from home or with a small group with better efficiency and high profit margins. First thing you learn in business is how inefficient and slow to adapt it can be. Use that insight to your advantage to carve out a niche.

People are easily offended nowadays brother. We still run a business, so we don’t need to be shitting on everyone lol.

Sorry, I was unclear.
  1. Reduce thread clutter by not quoting 400 lines at a time please
  2. Working independently allows a lot of freedom
I only meant to shit on runaway quotes bro no offense intended

“I’m just a lost soul” Gayest excuse for anything, ever. But I digress.

You’re young. Take some chances, make some money, bang as many hoes as you can, take a course or two on self improvement and most likely, your hobbies or passions will come and if they don’t, than thats a shame but I’m sure you’ll be fine if you just man up 😉
