Coinbase asking for ID?

Since when did coinbase start asking for a photo ID?
Says my transaction won’t go through for 3 days unless I upload an ID.

This transaction is already processed but moving forward, which platform are you using to buy/sell?

I made a Coinbase account little over a year ago and they made me upload a photo ID. Just the typical KYC protocol these days it seems.
Also, make sure you guys are sending your satoshis onto an outside wallet before you try to use them to pay for anything!

Any public exchange, including CashApp, is going to require identity verification before sending/receiving crypto these days. I always try and promote XMR (Monero) to my clients as its probably the only ACTUAL anonymous currency outside of hard cash.

What is the best way to buy XMR? I have heard good things about it too but stupid Coinbase does not sell it.

CB in order to verify your account was requiring photo ID at least 12 months ago.

It's not just photo ID, they also want a screen shot video of you.

In the past they would have you put up a page with your photo ID to verify.

Most people seem to prefer cashapp.

It really doesn't matter. All crypto is moved off CB or CA or any other exchange and then moved to several more wallets and then a purchase is made and those wallets are all flushed down the toilet with your remaining balance moved to a fresh wallet, fresh emails.

Your bank account or credit card is more likely to rat you out, one of the reasons to open a bank account and only use it for crypto, that way you can flush your bank account every few years and leave less of a paper trail as long as you're only moving small amounts of money.

Getting busted for anabolics is more about moving quantity, guys that are shipping a lot of product, not the average guy just ordering twice a year from a domestic or once a year raw restock.

Monero is an option, but it's kind of a pain for the guy that just makes a couple of purchases a year. If I was making a living as a source I'd do a step by step how to for monero, but then again most people are busted for what they have in their possession. The government has proven themselves very capable of tracing any sort of crypto that isn't tumbled or churned and I'd be surprised if they can't trace Monero as well, because there have been billion dollar crypto recoveries made by the government where the perps used Monero that was traced and busted. If the government thinks there's money to seize there's nothing to stop them, they are relentless when it comes to stealing every dime they can.

Are you guys using this to send crypto? Coinbase has been giving me a hard time... most of the sources that I've actually seen only accept BTC. If there is an anonymous way to send that, it would definitely be helpful.
