Ok so I have ETH and may need to change to LTC for order. Does coinbase charge a fee to switch currency you have on their site? And how smooth is it? Does it take days or a few minutes thanks. Worried cause instead of putting my money in USD I put it in ETH which took 10 days to process and ive lost 85 bucks and still dropping

Ur going to have to sell it wait for it to clear usually pretty quick. Pay a fee to sell it. Once funds r back in ur account u can buy litecoin n pay another fee.

Ur source doesn’t take ETH?

You could always use shapeshift to convert. I think (not 100% sure) that it is cheaper to buy Litecoin on coinbase, then shapeshift it to the coin you want. Just make sure you have the correct wallet for the coin you are shifting it into. For example, if you buy Litecoin, then you want to shapesift it to ETH, you have a ETH wallet.

From coinbase $3 fee for $150 in Litecoin…open a wallet that handles multiple coins like Exodus (BTC, LTC, ETH, ETC…)

BTC swings are enormous and could cost you… But don’t confuse change in BTC price with coinbase Fees

And $3 fee was from using my debit card to buy coins

Transfer your ETH from Coinbase to GDAX (coinbases exchange). You should be able to login to GDAX with your Coinbase credentials and it is free to transfer BTC/ETH/LTC to GDAX from Coinbase. Then sell your ETH on GDAX for USD and buy LTC. Using limit orders you won’t pay any fees.

Coinbase has always been hard with fees. They just recently started a usd wallet so you can keep your cash as usd until you need to convert. That would protect you a little from volatility of crypto.

There’s other options than coinbase such as local bitcoins. Coinbase is known for closing accounts if they think you’re doing things that you shouldn’t be, such as money laundering.
