Coronavirus Study

Found this to be interesting.

Researchers used a nebulizer device to put samples of the new virus into the air, imitating what might happen if an infected person coughed or made the virus airborne some other way.

They found that viable virus could be detected up to three hours later in the air, up to four hours on copper, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to two to three days on plastic and stainless steel.

Not necessarily new news. I believe within the first week of it being out they were already discussing the 72 hour life potential on mainstream outlets even.

Of course, now they’ll just tell you to wash your hands and “it’s not that serious”.

I honestly thought it was breaking news. When I saw the headline and said 9hrs ago. Looks like I need to get up to speed. Maybe it will be new to someone else.

The media has nothing else to talk about, most of the media is liberal and it’s pretty obvious they’re using this to take the wind out of the orange mans sails, which I think is funny. You don’t see the guy at rallies bragging anymore, stock market drop, a few people getting sick, media hammering his response.

I also think big pharma is getting in on the action developing another forced vaccination for anyone that works or goes to school, which is basically everyone under the age of 65, that’s gonna be big money.

As for viruses, flu has killed 6k to 12,000 people a year for many years, nobody was raising this level of stink.

Hand washing is obvious, most Americans don’t do it, you wouldn’t even need vaccinations for these sorts of things if people were more aware of what they touch and how often they should wash hands for 30 seconds with rushing hot water.

You mean the guy that said (when we had 15 cases) that the number will go down, not up? The same one that accidentally said that trade to Europe is cancelled in a pre-written speech? He keeps bumbling responses, he’s providing plenty of ammo for the media.

I’ve thought about this as well, but the thing is the flu infected way more people. I just did the math. About 4% of people have died from the Coronavirus so far, whereas less than 1% (a little bit over 1/10th of a percent actually) died from the flu during 2017-2018 which had the highest mortality rates in history and infected 45,000,000 people. The flu stats were United States only btw.

Mass hysteria…I thought I read earlier today, that from 2018-19 that there were 61,000 deaths in the U.S. from influenza. There are 37 confirmed cases in the state that I live in and all schools have been closed for the next month. I’m a numbers guy, and there something that just doesn’t add up to me regarding this situation. Either this is far worse than what is being reported, or there is an agenda behind this. Dexter, I enjoy reading some of your posts, you seem l like an intelligent individual

I don’t like trump, but I won’t like any president for that matter from the time of my birth probably tell the day I die.

That said, it’s completely obvious the C19 is being used by the media to take a shot at trump.

Working in a hospital lab for going on 25 years I can tell you there’s been much much worse years when it came to the flu, there were years where it was crazy the volume of positive tests for a,b,a+b influenza.
And yet no president was being blamed for it.

These things run their course, viruses are a fact of life. I think quarantine is well advised, I’ve never seen that in this country, but this country has never been big on doing what I consider completely obvious.

This is also a goldmine for the company that comes forward with a vaccine and what I hear will be antibodies for rapid treatment of critically ill patients. Pharma has been pushing vaccines hard, we healthcare workers our the guinea pigs, they line us up like cattle and inject whatever they want and if you don’t comply, you’re fired. It’s not just bullshit when we talk about repeated exposure to these vaccines, I’ve had side effects where I was deathly sick, red rash all over my body, and a nose bleed so bad that I filled up a 30 gallon trash bag of bloody kleenex. And my fellow workers have experienced the same thing with the red rash all over the body.

Life is full of risks, the risk of anyone dying from the C19 is so small that I’m simply not seeing what all the fuss is and I’m not big on flushing $50 billion down the toilet to test a bunch of people, when commonsense would tell them to stay away from people for a few weeks if you feel sick.

Alright so let’s use numbers then. Based on this: https://ncov2019.live/data we can see that 2,130 people in the United States have been confirmed to have the virus and 48 of those people have died which means that a little over 2% of the people who have contracted the virus in the US have died. Keep in mind the corona craze just started.

2017-2018 flu season estimates there were 45,000,000 people in the US who contracted the flu. Out of those people, 61,000 died which means a little over 1/10th of 1% of people who contracted the flu died in the US.

So based on numbers, yes 2% might seem like a small percentage but it’s almost 20 times as big as the percentage of people who died from the flu and this thing just started. I’m just pointing this out is all.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Honestly if this tanks the economy and ruins Trumps bid for reelection and Biden is considered unfit for office due to his severe alzheimers, and bernie has his final heart attack that kills him, maybe we could get Tusli Gabbard or someone that has pointed out the war on drugs is bullshit.

That’s really all I care about, I don’t give a shit about this virus, I just hope it works some voodoo with our elections killing off most of our candidates.

Lol! That’s too funny. I’m in agreement though, I don’t care about the virus. Although, now I’m way more productive overall working from home and I get to listen to my Bill Evans vinyl while I work. I think it’s insane people are buying up all the toilet paper like it’s the zombie apocalypse. People are idiots.

I’m not from the States, but it isn’t much different here in Europe, people are going insane because they trust the bullshit the media puts out. There is a supermarket next to my house, and it keeps getting restocked daily with 3-4 big trucks, which is quite insane. Canned goods are always empty every evening. TP has been empty a couple of times as well. What are they doing with all that TP?

I personally don’t really care that much, I just hope my gym stays open, and my goto grocery stores keep being stocked with the goods I need. I don’t go out to places full with people anyway, so there is no change for me in that regard haha.

It’s kind of odd because Generation X, to Z really don’t watch television at all. I haven’t owned a tv for more than 25 years, everything I look at is online.

So how did the media get their message out when we aren’t listening?

I feel like an old man, but wasn’t copper (or bronze?) touted as having anti-germ properties at one point?

Well looks like they will be closing all gyms in my country as well, some counties already have closed them, the rest will be following tomorrow at the latest. Maybe even for months (sic!).

I am fucking mad as hell to say the least. Fortunately I have a powerrack, oly barbell, pair of shitty adjustable dbs, and a cable tower in my basement, so I can at least train (will miss the leg extension and leg curl machines though), even if I have to adjust my plan, fucks my mesocycle and progression, meh.

Fucking nanny state. As if this shit even helps at all. Grocery stores have become a war zone, I stocked up on food for the week - so I don’t have to go again, it was that bad, jesus fucking christ. IT IS A DAMN FLU THAT MOSTLY KILLS ELDERY FUCKERS, not a zombie virus. wtf is going on.

Just curious if you uh, changed your opinion on everything going on right now since you first posted this…

I’m not giving you shit, I had the same opinion 5 days ago lol. Looks like we were completely wrong and now I feel like an arrogant asshole.

I still despise all the doomsday fucktards that buy all the toilet paper, but yeh besides that I I regret not thinking this was more serious sooner.

Don’t get what you want sorry (not a native english speaker). I just train in my basement home gym and keep buying groceries to just once a week to avoid being out with crazy lunatics that are losing their mind thanks to media, who is selling the juicy bad news and are happy as pigs in shit.

Our society isn’t well informed when it comes to hygiene. The Japanese seem to be extremely methodical, it’s ingrained in their culture to wash hands and face, wear a mask when sick. Food prep in schools, restaurants, cafeterias are like nowhere else in the world when it comes to hygiene and being tidy.

When I watched a youtube clip a few years back of Japanese kids how they wash their hands and sanitize before they serve their school lunches, wear masks, hairnets and how they clean the school when they are done for the day. No wonder they live longer than the rest of us by a long shot. I wouldn’t want to live like the japanese as they ban too much stuff, but Americans are sloppy, they’re not thinking when it comes to spreading disease.
