Good luck getting a truthful response, because it's no one's business anyway.

I certainly hope they get something as they have to put up with occasional BS here. I wouldn't moderate a forum for free. It takes personal time to do it, and sometimes things need addressing asap.

Mods are usually volunteers, doing it for the love of the community. It's more about passion than money. While some platforms might offer perks, it's not a primary income source. Check out these games to make money easily. Good luck!

I’m not sure how mods would make money if this is their website ? Who they charging ? Membership is free. Only thing I would guess is a fee they charge for sources, but it can’t be too much or the sources would just say fuck off and leave, not like SST is the only forum.

So I agree it’s probably more of their passion or hobby then “business”

Most forums, moderators don't get anything. They're doing it because they're into it.

I doubt the site is charging fees, because then it becomes a legal issue. Donations are key to keep up the maintenance of the site.

Hey bro. I’m actually in charge of the accounting department here at SST.

According to my records you owe me $15 dollars in Bitcoin. Let me know when you’re ready for my Bitcoin addy.

This whole "mods making money" thing is a curious rabbit hole. While I can't speak for sure, it feels like there's probably more hustle than guaranteed riches involved, you know? Like chasing a shiny object at the end of a long, questionable path.

These days, with the app store booming, it seems like there are tons of legit apps that actually pay you for your time and effort. Maybe a better route than modding the unknown. Just a thought! But hey, that's not to say there isn't a niche market for certain mods out there. I'm sure some folks are making a decent buck.
