Do people seem to be more confrontational due to your size?

I feel like ever since I’ve gotten bigger, people are a lot more confrontational. Seems people always pick fights for no reason at all, in an attempt to prove to themselves or someone with them how tough they are. Used to happen at bars all the time even though I’m pretty quiet but still happens in public places, especially since I live in a not so great area. I’m not as big as some of you dudes but anyone else experience this? I’m usually pretty calm about handling situations but been getting pretty fed up lately.

Happened to me a bit more when I put on 35lbs. I’m 5’5 so apparently I looked drastically different according to friends. People try to impress friends/girls by fucking with a big dude and not being scared of them, you have to just be able to walk away unless they start swinging, then by all means bust ass. But being a small dude my whole life I always had people messing with me, so I was always down to brawl with anyone and everyone. People I fought were always bigger than me, I stopped giving a fuck about size a long time ago. But I’ve had to keep my temper in check since I put on a bit of size, not worth the bullshit of beating someone’s ass and then having to deal with cops/cost of fixing the shit you fuck up. But if they throw the first shot def fuck their ass up lol.

Never had anybody be aggressive or confrontational if I’m being fully honest. Occasionally I’ll get little snide remarks about dick/ball size, steroids, or showing off, but that’s really as bad as it gets and I usually chirp back in a friendly/joking way which deescalates the situation if there was any ill intent initially. I actually get a lot of nice/positive comments, even some stuff that’s really flattering and I would never expect somebody to say to a random stranger.

Now, on the other hand… on the internet I get every little Reddit geek stepping up to the plate to talk shit on a daily basis lmao.

edit: my circumstances vary significant from yours though. i live in a ‘good’ (not trying to brag lol) area and i avoid venues such as bars/clubs like the plague. very rarely do i have to interact with intoxicated/degenerate people. i’m sure if i were hanging out in front of a club near closing i’d get a ton of drunk douchebags trying to flex

I honestly have gotten the opposite. I manage a bar and walk around all night talking to all sorts of people. I’ve never had people be confrontational since I was 180 or now at 225. I dont consider myself big and dont walk around with any arrogance. Being an ex fat fuck has kept me pretty humble. I do get challenged to arm wrestling quite frequently…that’s annoying.

In my 6 years of being in the bars, I’ve been in 1 fight. It’s all how you approach people and carry yourself.

Never… but I get plenty of compliments at my gym. I’m not HUGE by any means. 162 at my highest weight and at 5’7 that’s a good weight… I don’t want to get HUGE… just a decent full looking physique. I was 126 just last year. I’ve just been maintaining the 160 pounds but gaining strength…until recently where I was laid up in bed so now I’m around 155-154. I look pretty much the same. 5 pounds makes a bit of difference but I didn’t feel weak after getting back into the gym but my cheast did get sore and it’s never been sore in months.

Not really. I smile and I hold the door open for people, unless I look at their face and I know with confidence that that won’t say thank you. In those cases I shut it as quickly as possible. I’ve always been sociable and outgoing so people never don’t judge much or are ever intimidated. Guys annoy the hell out of me, if I were a tighter sweatshirt (I stay covered up lulz) then at multiple points during the day I get “BRO BEEN TO THE GYM RECENTLY? Just kidding wow wow those arms!” or some other similarly phrased shit. Fuckin A, they will be with their kids, or their wives/girlfriends (instant cuck shit) and be doing it.

The gym is ok lol. I workout at 24 and I do the first half of my workout very heavy, so when I put up 120lb dumbbells and do a set of shoulder presses every one around me just sort of stops and looks. Dunno what’s on their mind exactly… “can he do that?” “Does he need help? He’s just sitting their with his eyes closed and the weight is on is knees.”

I get the younger college bloaty Dbol looking fucks giving me bad looks. They like to come very close to me and usually do shrugs or some dumb shit with extremely heavy weight. At that point I just take my sweatshirt off and they fuck off.

I’m not even that big at all but I stay lean and very dry. Luckily I hide extremely well in a sweatshirt… lmao.

It’s honestly just more so a locational thing I guess. If I walked around Miami nobody would look at me, here in Colorado everyone does.

Yeah definitely see the locations playing a big part. In the Midwest people were all usually extremely nice and would get compliments, but now I live in the Southwest in a not as nice area as I did in the Midwest. My neighborhood is the fine line between ghetto and okay, and I always get the wannabe gangbangers talking shit. There are a lot of them that will joke around and be cool though. Seems to be the young guys always trying to prove themselves.
