Do you guys change your workouts during cruise?

When you go from blast to cruise do you change your workouts? I just lower the volume and frequency to maintain strength.

Im no expert but when I cruise I stay in the 3 to 5 rep range and do alot of compound lifting, while dropping my volume a little. I enjoy powerlifting style workouts anyway so really I just cut out some of my accessory work and focus on staying heavy in bench, deads, and squats.

On a cruise now after coming off a Test/Tren cycle. I planned to just “maintain” but really I’m still trying to make gains. Luckily strength has fallen off too hard but I definitely have had to clean up the diet alot as I’m retaining fat much easier now.

No, not at all. I switch to a trt dose of test and continue to make small strength and mass gains for the next 10-15 days after my last shot from the blast. Around 3 or 4 weeks post-blast my strength will dip dramatically on bench and ohp first. From there, when I see the number of reps fall on a movement I will adjust the weight downward slightly until I am in the rep range for the program I am on and work up from there. I alternate between a hypertropy focused routine and a strength focused one whenever the one I am on runs stale.

Yes, I always plan my blast according to my mesocycles. I escalate volume until I reach my MRV, then do one week of overreaching with intensifiers like drop-sets, cluster sets, BFR, forced reps, Band work etc. Then end the mesocycle, and cut volume in half, and reduce weights about a third, and just get a nice pump going in the gym.

Then I usually start my strength block/mesocycle, which is lower volume, just enough for my cruise dose of test. I tried a lot of different programs, but this approach ally jives well with me. I keep my frequency(6 On/1 Off) the same though, mainly because I like to be in the gym as much as I can ;-).

I don’t change anything, outside of what my mesocycle would dictate. I’m a big fan of using LGD during my cruise, and It’s not uncommon for me to hit several PR lifts during my cruise. For the record, my cruise consists of my regular TRT dose of test, with some HCG, and anastrozole. To that I’ll add 10 mg LGD daily.

I dont understand why so many people change their training routine… “Lower Volume?” Why? if anything you should be working hard to keep your gains and keep up the volume. If you are on a cruise, more likely your test level is still 2x that of a normie and you should be able to make good gains… albeit a bit slower.

Ever heard of the “brand new” concept of periodization?

Not at all. Did a quick search and a bunch of powerlifting articles came up.

Zero Science behind this but I train for strength during cruise and hypertrophy during blast. It’s what has worked for me and allows for some variations in training.
