Donating plasma

Anyone have experience in donating blood plasma. I’m about to ask my primary care doctor just wondering how it goes how you feel the effects after bloodwork. I’ve never donated blood yet.

Plasma, Whole Blood and Double Red Blood Cell donations are all different. I probably wouldn’t donate/sell Plasma while on cycle.

stop being such a pussy and just donate blood.
They don’t pay you to donate blood

Plasma leaves me feeling weak. And kills vascularity. Ive tried doing it on cruise with the plan of saving all the money I made for my next blast at the time…but I csnt stand feeling weak especially since I work construction.

I donate peripheral blood stem cell through Be a match org, pretty much what happens is I get an injection called filgrastime 5-7 days before donation. It causes the spike in cells needed. They take my blood out through one arm and machine take blood forming cells and return my blood without it.

Takes me about 5-10 days to get back to normal. Few times when injected with filgrastime I did get some random headaches and muscle cramps/pain.

My blood has been saving lives, so w.e its a small price to pay

That’s awesome man. I’m on the registry as well but haven’t been called up for anything. How would you say it effects your training intensity for that recovery period on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being your normal baseline workout.

umm isn’t the whole purpose in donating blood to bring your red cell count down? Why would you donate blood only to have the take the plasma and stick the red cells back in you?

Because they pay you for it.

I do, just to keep my RBC # down. I do it every 2.5 months cause I’m on TRT.

I feel week for up to a week after the donation, usually my cardio goes to shit.

1 pint of blood weighs 1 lb. you’ll feel somewhat weak for a day. Other than that, no issues.

Donating blood if your low on Iron stores can wreck you for up to 3 weeks. I found out the hard way, TRT lowers iron stores (never knew this) and I donated blood 3 times in 6 months, well after the 3rd donation I couldn’t go to the gym for 3 weeks and was barely able to work my office job.

The bitch of it is my Hematocrit is fine, so I actually started taking an Iron supplement to get my iron up for the next donation

TLDR : Dont donate is your iron is low

I know I’m a little late to answer this, but I have given blood a couple times this year, both times on cycle. If you eat a high protein meal before you give the plasma, you feel totally fine. Normally try to work out before giving it tho. I’ve worked out a couple hours after, and I was fine. I will say that if you bruise from the donation process, you probably want to try to avoid working out your arms (especially that one) too much. Make it a leg day.

All in all, you will be fine… reminds me that I neee to lower my hemocrit and donate actual blood!
