Elbow flexability/shoulder external rotation

I took a about a year off, and i no longer have the flexibility to use an underhand grip.

I was doing deadhangs just to stretch and changed my grip to underhand, and it’s like my forearms and shoulders don’t rotate externally enough to hang in a chin up position

I’ve been stretching my lats and doing regular dead hangs to gain more flexability but i haven’t had any improvement in the underhand grip, I can’t pinpoint the issue and whatever needs stretching , isn’t being stretched enough

Any ideas?

Oof that sucks. I’m curious as to the causation. Do you get any pain from your shoulders down? Is your grip strength any different? What’s your finger mobility like?

spider crawls ain’t gonna fix a thing but might not hurt throwing them into the stretch routine
