Do you find music to be beneficial for PRs? I've mostly been focused on recovery, diet, form, warmup prior to a PR. I stage my workouts knowing "Friday I'm going to PR my deadlift, keep it light today". If music is actually helpful, maybe I'll build a playlist.

I just listen to whatever the gym is playing, which is usually some streaming station with old rock like Motley Crue, Poison, etc. I'm old so I like it alright, some of the first cassettes I ever owned.

I find that music helps me focus. The songs don't really matter as much to me as long as it drowns out everything in the background.

I also like that the headphones deter people from trying to talk to me.

That being said, I like to listen to R&B when I lift.

Audiobooks are also nice during a gym sesh.

Im in a unique spot with pr music lol. Most recent ones have been to morgan wallen sad songs "more than hometown" specifically. Gets you in your bag and keeps the nerves down
