First cycle surplus

I’m 5,10” 213lbs, about 17% bf I think, visible abs if I flex but nothing spectacular. Should I keep calories around maintence and recomp? Would I still gain a decent amount of size doing that? Or should I bulk, and how big of a surplus if I bulk? I’ve read you need to eat more than what I usually would bulking natty? Tia

with your current stats I would say maybe eat 200-400 more calories than you usually would which would be a small surplus if you were natural but since your enhanced this should be about baseline. Androgens increase your metabolic rate, so you are correct in saying that you must eat more than if you were natural. You are going to gain size being enhanced regardless if you keep the calories the same or increase the total assuming you keep your training consistent. The difference is how much size you will gain. Everyone is different but my guess is that you will lose body fat and gain muscle by adding 300 calories, with this being said what does your first cycle consist of? Knowing this would help gauge total food intake.

I’m at 500mg test E/ week and will be adding 50mg Anavar a day split into two doses for 6 weeks at the end. Will be a 20 week cycle.
