Hope this is the right section, we’re on and we lift so why not right.

used to incline bench the 125 dbs all the time that was heaviest gym had, benched 315 for 8 or 10 but this was like 10yrs ago when i was heavier at like 180-183lbs and just did prohormones back then alot of trenavar in every cycle. also shoulder pressed 115s for like 10, not so great with deadlifts think most i did was 405 didnt do much cuz didnt want to get injured.

just got serious back into this about 3-4 months ago, did first real cycle of test and dbol? (think it was fake didnt do shit) and some anavar toward the end which im at now and think i look better than ever, i weigh 163 now.

shoulder pressed 105s for 10, do 95s for 4 sets of 15 no problem. always thought it would be cool to shoulder press 120s-125s no problem.

dont know my max bench because still recovering from a sore outer pec from incline benching 120s but know i can do 125s now which is nice. stopped deadlifts because even with light weight id keep getting sore and injured so not worth it for me.

cant wait to see what ill be able to lift with a heavier cycle and another 20-30lbs of weight gain.

@zyzzsickkvnt Those are really good numbers for your weight. Powerlifting has always been my thing or at least when I was younger. My best comp lifts were 640 deadlift, 525 squat, 410 bench. In the gym I hit a 670 dead and 540 squat but never in competition. Bench has always been my weakest lift.

Never did reach impressive numbers, especially considering I was much heavier at the time, but I have always enjoyed training for strength. Now I train around several injuries and focus more on hypertrophy and less on power. Although I will still run a meso or two each year focused on strength.

thanks never really maxed out, an over 400 bench would be cool to do, 600 deadlift would be amazing, id be happy even with 500 … maybe i should try doing those again.

Solid numbers period… great numbers considerimg.your weight. I’ve never actually tried.to max out on anything… I never think to ask a random gym beo to spot me. And my form on the big 3 needs help before I go really heavy… there’s only 1 guy I would trust to watch me and critique me even teach me… and he is never there…

@Bluesec Man I miss OHP. Can’t do it now because of rotator cuff tear. Still do dumbbells and landmine but it’s not the same. I don’t hit max on lifts anymore either. Lowest I will go now is 4-5 rm on big lifts like squat or dead, sometimes pin press. Sucks getting older. Mind and muscles are willing but the tendons and joints say fuck you.

Envious of those lifts, great job guys!!! I’m too old to lift heavy…lol.Im on the plus side of 50. I can still incline bench. 275 for 8 reps or so…Dont squat anymore at all…Getting older can be a real blow to the ego…lol

Recently for me was hitting 315lbs on flat bench for 11 reps and feeling great afterwards, like I could’ve kept going. Then hitting 405lbs for 2 reps right afterwards. Haven’t benched 405 in probably 4 years

@Silverback

Maybe try Over-and-back press? John Meadows has a video on it. Check it out…hes not a huge fan of lifting heavy on OHP either for the exact reason you mentioned(shoulder health).

@Bluesec Thanks for the recommendation. Found his vid on YouTube and I am going to incorporate these to see how they feel.

Main focus has always been powerlifting until recently
While competing my best lifts in the gym were
Raw bench 445
Floor press 515
Raw squat 700
Raw sumo 635
Raw conventional 605

Equipped numbers were ok , never great though . At my age the roll from big numbers and training super heavy beat the hell out of me . Took too much away from regular life so I never really pushed these things too far

Equipped squat 885
Equipped bench. 650
Equipped pull 725

All this was done at 230-250 lbs body weight

Currently I’m following John Meadows. Project. Colossus low volume high intensity
Going to try my hand at being more muscular instead of just big and strong
Haven’t done anything crazy yet on the benchmarks movements of the program but here’s some numbers from recent sessions

Rack pull below knee - rest pause set or 10
500lb

Squats. 405. for 10
Incline -flat- decline dumbbell press
120sx12 (that’s all my gym has)

Slight incline barbell press
330x8

That’s all I’m any good at
My worst lift is anything overhead

75-80 lb dumbbell for overhead shoulder presses and it feels like my bicep tendons are going to blow off

Ultimately I would love to squat 500 for 10 raw
Incline 405 for reps and manage to. Shoulder press the 100s

TLDR - used to. throw big weights , now I’m old and want to try training like a bodybuilder

Oh and small add here - John Meadows programming is awesome !!

@Fina-express114 I am right there with you. Used to love training for powerlifting. I competed raw for several years and mainly stuck with Westside style training with a few modifications. I only cared about progressing my main lifts and loved it. Now I am paying for it with age…and I’m only in my 40’s.

I am starting to lean more towards hypertrophy training myself. John Meadows fan as well. I ran Creeping Death 2 last year and really liked it. Ran Gamma Bomb earlier this year and it was killer. Right now I am trying out some JP style training and I feel like it gives me the best of both worlds. Hypertrophy but also working to beat my log book each week on the top set.

Paused 495 on bench for a single raw. Squated 655 with belt and knee wraps. Never really maxed on deads though, have a spot on bottom left of my back that tweaks out easy, and chiropractor visit is needed to correct. Was in 93 or 94 though.

Marrying my gym crush. We grew up together in a small town. Went our separate ways. When she graduated college and moved back I saw her at the gym and sparked up a convo. Ended up asking her out later that night. First date was to the gym and chipotle after. We started competing in powerlifting together. Here we are 7 years and 2 kids later blessed and wouldn’t change a thing.

My local gym has dumbells that go up to 150… … my.goal this year was to finally ownnthe 150s… last year I could get 2 maybe 3.reps slight incline bench and only 125s.for seated shoulder press…
2 days ago i.got 3 sets.of 5-6 for seated shoulder press woth the 150s and 3 sets of 10 on slight incline bench woth.tne 150s…
I’m extremely fucking proud of myself!!! When I was younger I remember seeing the wall of dumbells and thinking.ill get to the end.one day… that day was this past week!!! Bit now what? I need bigger weights lol… im believe I can add some.tweaks and still habe alot.of.growing woth that weight obviously… maybe I’ll go back.to barbell bemch… been 2 years since I’ve done any of that… dumbells gave me more growth and alot less pain…

You fuckers make me feel weak with those numbers. Some of you will laugh at this but it’s true. Started lifting 1 year 1 month ago. With no rest days and enough gear to kill me 3x over,

My Bench went from 65lbs(25lb bar) to 315x8.

@zyzzsickkvnt I spent a long time watching guys who I thought were alot bigger then me run those weights… I also don’t see my size or strength like people looking at me… bad case of body dismorphia. I’m 6’1" 242lbs right now… starting to lean out from 258 at end of bulk… bench has always been weak because barbell killed my shoulder from old broken collar bone injuries… finally started dumbells only and no I’m growing way better and getting stronger alot faster… I also never do “flat”… always 4-6 inches of incline…

@Forthewin1123 I always feel that for my size I should habe atelast 300lbs bench… also I always lift alone and I don’t talk to people so I never really “max out” or go to heavy woth certain lifts that could get me jammed up… there no serious guys in my gym…
