I’m new to the forum and gear. I’m posting to introduce myself and maybe get some feedback from you fine folks.
I’m turning 42 in a couple months and have been training Filipino martial arts my whole life but only started lifting weights about 8 years ago. I’ve not gotten the results I hoped in all that time despite being very consistent. I’ve also dealt with some of the low T symptoms forever such as apathy, depression, difficulty building muscle, and anxiety, but never had any libido issues. I figured it was just mental so I got on ssri meds for a while and they didn’t do much. I finally got my testosterone tested a couple years ago and I was at 300 with very low estrogen. I’ve been on the fence with trying TRT since then. I’ve gotten tested a couple more times since then and it has declined to 280. Primary care doc still won’t prescribe trt so I looked at trying Hone online clinic. They recommended a clomid cycle but the cost is near $200 a month. They told me there were no sides with taking clomid long term but that is not what I am reading online and I feel more inclined to try just a basic test cycle to see how I feel. I am mostly interested in taking it for the mental and sleep benefits but some gains sure would be nice as well.
I’m done having kids and not worried about losing my balls. I just want to have some drive for the last decades of life.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you and be well.

I'm in no position to give medical advice, but I was in a similar testosterone situation. I went with an online clinic - Defy. There's no monthly fee, just bloodwork, phone calls with the doctor fee, and medication cost. It's not cheap but it's not crazy expensive either for an adult.

The doc I use there is pretty good, he goes over bloodwork in great detail and is willing to prescribe decent amounts of testosterone and other compounds like deca and Anavar. I REALLY like having a legit prescription for these compounds especially if I travel I can have actual pharma vials with my name on them. It doesn't get any more legit.

I would advise against your suggestion of "just running a test cycle and see how I feel". I mean you can totally do that, but I'd get EXTENSIVE bloodwork done first, and also mid cycle. You will regret it should you skip that step. My GPs bloodwork was stupid basic, you'll want as much detail as possible. My son who doesn't use a clinic gets his bloodwork from Marek health. They offer really extensive options.

Thanks for the reply. I will check them out. The monthly for Hone just seems really high, especially when the doc wasn’t really answering any of my questions.
