HCG storage temperature

How much does temperature affect HCG? I already knew it is supposed to be refrigerated after mixing before I first bought it. The first product I bought was pre-mixed, and I thought hopefully that meant that it could be stored at room temperature at least until the cap was popped. But the packaging indicated it was supposed to be refrigerated. So now I’m wondering if it could possibly be any good since it’s obviously been sitting around in warehouses for who knows how long before it came to me. I’ve still been using it but I wonder if I’ve just been wasting my time.
I recently bought a vial of the powder to replace the pre-mix solution, but I was surprised to see the box marked with storage instructions of 2-8 degrees C. I didn’t think the powder had to be refrigerated as well. Does anyone have any more detailed info on temp requirements for HCG and how it affects potency?

@melonball I don’t believe I have ever heard of “premixed” HCG. (Exception being a legal compounding pharmacy with script. Annoying but they do that for us morons who couldn’t possibly mix the product”)

Hopefully someone here will have more insight, or a better/more accurate perspective to help you. I would personally be suspicious of anything premixed, if not only from a quality standpoint. (Wouldn’t put that in my body if from an UG source)

The reason why its calling for a 2-8 degree storage on the powder is because the brand of hcg you acquired is pregnyl.

I’ve used pharma premixed HCG before and it seemed to be working as intended.

Not sure about storing dry HCG. I just keep it all in the fridge and it’s been working fine for me for years.

@Astrartes Norditropin Flex pro Pharma comes premixed, and claims longer storage than other HGH.

Doesn’t even say it need refrigerated until after first use.

No doubt that reconstituted HCG degrades fast if not refrigerated. I left mine out once or twice, and after a month it was not working at all. My clinic sent me a 12000IU vial but I don’t think it will still even be good by the time I’m done (~16 weeks). I wouldn’t bothered with something premixed.

@horsemanbaby Yeah, I have it in the fridge now, too. But I bought it online and not only is it unrefrigerated the whole time it is being mailed but I doubt the supplier ever refrigerates it either. So it makes me wonder. I don’t have any other way to get except online.

@Jay When you say Pregnyl do you mean literally the brand Pregnyl or any generic version of it? Are there different types of HCG? The powder I got is some generic from China or something, so like, if it’s a generic of Pregnyl then what other types of HCG are there where the powder does not need to be refrigerated?

@melonball I am on TRT with regular HCG injections, and had reached a stable blood level / effects for a while. I started having pre-TRT symptoms and thought I needed to increase my T dose. I finished a vial of HCG and opened a new one, and literally after the first injection I felt normal again. Been fine ever since. Of course it’s anecdotal, but the change was pretty profound for me.

@melonball Oh, and there is no blood test, but HCG raises testosterone and estradiol, so you can tell that way if it’s working. You can also test 17-OH-progesterone, which correlates with intratesticular testosterone (and therefore how well the HCG is working).

@melonball Mine was the same situation. I bought 10k iu Hucog HCG, which comes already in liquid form. It shipped from either India, or Singapore, to the US, unrefrigerated.

I believe it worked fine for me. It was my first time buying HCG and I’ve since switched to buying it in powdered form so I’m 100% confident what I’m buying is working 👍
