Homebrew question on transferring after vacuum filtration

So- after I have just vacuum filtered a compound, the ‘cup’ part is still on above the chamber- and the filtrate is below

When you unscrew the top filter assembly, is there some sort of seal/diaphragm in place automatically?

How do you get the oil out with sterile technique?

I mean, is there a rubber diaphragm or something? It’s not exposed to open air while you take the filter off and put on a cap or something- is it?

This is just for personal use, so I only want to use a few large sterile bottles, not a bunch of 10ml bottles , or even just keep in the lower assembly if it has some type of diaphragm to put a needle through. . .

The guides and videos I’ve seen seem to skip this part like it’s obvious.

Thank you.

Don’t Chew.

  1. Love the name
  2. You don’t need perfect sterile technique, you can open the vial in open air. vendors use more advanced machinery to avoid this but this is just homebrew. I would just suggest this:
a. filter your compound into your media bottle (receiving bottle)
b. unscrew the bottle top filter from the media bottle
c. use as large of a syringe as you have available to draw out as much juice as possible
d. put the media bottle cap on the media bottle just for precaution
e. inject the oil from the syringe into your vials after rubbing vial tops with iso alcohol and attaching new needles
f. Repeat until all vials are filled or all oil is gone

Simple enough, got it. Thank you.
