This might include some other states that ban online blood testing. Well, actually let me qualify that, certain states passed legislature to prevent only labcorp and Quest from contracting with online companies that order bloodwork. I’m not completely up to speed on it but the rule has to do with all bloodwork to be free, it is unlawful for a doctor to be paid, or to pay for bloodwork, but like anything else, I was curious enough to research it. Here’s some alternatives that I was able to uncover.

https://www.truehealthlabs.com/ and they have a section specifically for New Yorkers. https://www.truehealthlabs.com/category-s/2061.htm pricing is not great, selection isn’t great but it’s a start.

https://www.lifeextension.com/lab-testing is a more comprehensive available place. You might notice on the home page that it says: **Lab tests are available in the continental United States and Anchorage, AK only. Not available in MD. Residents of select states (NY, NJ, RI and MA) may not have their blood drawn at LabCorp, but optional services may be available; for details, call us at 1‐800‐208‐3444. So as long as you find a phlebotomist that isn’t one of those two then you are good. Of course the phlebotomist might charge and you still have to get the order but it’s better than nothing.

so there’s hope on that one. Still not great but getting better.

https://www.zrtlab.com/sample-types/blood-spot/ is a nice place out of Oregon and you can have your stuff mailed to you and you prick your finger and send that back. it’s surprisingly accurate. They have local labs that you can visit if you need a blood draw.

And the last one is similar to the one above but it is https://www.labrix.com where they have a saliva test for hormone panel. Again not ideal but at least you know you have options.

So as long as you find a phlebotomist that isn’t one of those two then you are good. Of course the phlebotomist might charge and you still have to get the order but that last option is available to you.

I hope that helps someone out, bloodwork is so important. So give it a shot and let us all know how it works. Has anyone else used these companies?

Thanks!
Syn
