Humulin-r protocols

To those that have run or are running humulin-r in their cycle, what protocol worked best for you? What did you start with, and what have you changed since? How were the gains vs no slin? What are your dosages and macro splits? Pre or post workout? What are your weeks on vs weeks off times? (Obligatory slin is dangerous, make sure you have glucose tabs, soda , glucometer, extra dextrose, not worth it if you’re not competing, etc)

Hey man I just started humulin-R this past week. My coach had me running 8-10iu humalog pre workout 4 times a week. I’m also taking 6iu GH daily and I’ve noticed my blood sugars have been running high in the mornings. After listening to Palumbos video on insulin, he suggests anyone taking GH to run lantus or humulin-R because of the high blood sugars I was experiancing. So I picked some up at Walmart and take 10iu humulin-R with 3iu GH as soon as I wake up. Shower then eat meal 1 which is a big meal. Then go about my day eating regularly. I’ve checked blood sugars throughout the day and it’s def helped keep it lower. I still take 10iu humalog preworkout but it’s abot 8 hours after the humulin shot. Only signs of hypo was yesterday during legs but that was from not drinking my intra shake quick enough.

So I’m gonna do this for 3 more weeks, 4 total then take some time off and also I’m only taking slin on training days. Rest days I drop my carbs. Overall since starting the humulin I’m up 3 lbs this week and look just as lean. Total carbs on training days are around 550. Good luck

What’s in your intra shake? I know some people prefer HBCD to something like vitargo or karbolyn. And I’ve heard some people use egg whites instead of whey.

If I went off Mike Arnold’s protocol, which seems like the safest and most detailed for beginners, I would use something like 4 servings for glycofuse (100g carbs), 50 grams hydrolyzed whey, and some bcaa/eaa blend for extra aminos and flavor. Drink half right away, and the rest throughout the workout, then have a protein and white rice meal when I get home from the gym. Thoughts on that?

I use HBCD but if I’m on a budget I switch over to Gatorade powder and don’t notice much of a difference. I’m just taking down 600 carbs a day so the HBCD gives me a little less bloating. For 10iu humalog I take 80 grams HBCD, 20 grams EAA & 10 grams creatine. Keep it simple. I don’t drink half right away. I slowly sip on it on my drive to the gym. And continue sipping while warming up. By that time I’ve probably had 1/3 of it. Then I drink the rest throughout my workout. The idea is to load the nutrients into the blood before the insulin peaks.

This is what works for me man. Insulin is user dependent and not something you can just say take 10 grams of carbs per iu like everyone says. If you alter your carb intake to your insulin dose expect to get fat. You should match your insulin to your carb intake prior to starting slin. I’m not gonna say yes that sounds like a good plan because I have no idea how your body will react to slin. Some guys take 5iu and go hypo
