International shipping US customs

Not wanting to spread anything without knowing exactly what’s going on.

However I have to point out that customs is a pain right now.

And it appears to be getting worse and worse. Don’t know if packs are backing up, if they are inspecting more chinese packs, they don’t have staff to process.

I will say this, if you’re ordering international, prepare to wait for what could be a long long time.

One courier that has been fast is ems, but that’s a signed delivery. The others that aren’t signed for seem to either get inspected, seized, or show up two months later.

What are some of your experiences lately?

I can tell you this. 2019 prior to December was a cake walk, boxes were flying through in 24-72hrs everytime, leading up to 2020 it all went downhill.

The boxes arrive, get shuffled from JFK NYC, Jamaica, sent to customs and nothing…day after day, week after week of nothing.

Granted all of this is China.

I’ve had stuff from India in this time, wasn’t scheduled so even after open inspection it eventually made it.

That will be DHL, we shipped by default no signature. We now ship by EMS to try be a little quicker! Singapore Post is still the fastest option with a recent report by a customer of it arriving in 5 days. DHL has taken a hit for speeds, that probably is due to Coronavirus as they come under DHL eCommerce Asia.

We have had pretty good luck for customs, only if it enters ISC will it take a few days to leave. We do think customs is on higher alert but it has not affected us too much!

EPCT stuff is fine as long as it’s shipped EMS.

Mainly I wish customs would be defunded and shutdown, this would be a boon for the economy, faster shipping more people able to get their AAS.

We do not know, it could be that the Coronavirus has genuinely impacted customs or at least put them on higher alert as there is still a lot panic. It could also be Donald Trump, he seems to be investing a lot into making US customs more strict! The US election is coming up and this could be his way of pushing himself up to look better. 2020 is a big year for USA!

And finally someone repeats what I’ve been harping on for awhile now.

STOP ACT coming 2021, 70% AED compliance tracking packs.

There’s not a lot of info, but I can only assume Trump and his hard-on for all things China has informed customs to up their game.

The problem is there are millions of people that now order medications from overseas because it’s vastly cheaper and skips the bureaucracy involved in getting a doctors order. So a lot of people are getting caught up.

Once these rules have been put in place, they’re hard to withdraw because they increase staff and the government when it comes to all forms of LE and Military has a hard time getting these people off the government dole if someone was to come along and cut programs.

That’s why we need drastic tax cuts in this country and the first place to fire 95% of the people is LE and Customs.
