Quick intro on me:

I've been involved in weightlifting and physical sports since I was 16. I was highly unmotivated in my 20s, along with picking up a smoking habit (kicked that), and my nutrition was complete rubbish, but I've had a renewed focus for the last 8 years or so. I respect all kinds of disciplines in strength, endurance, and bodybuilding. Over the years, I've learned to respect others' opinions and take criticism and put it to good use. I'll give a quick rundown of some of my past and current disciplines, supplements, and PEDs. I've lurked on forums for my entire adult life.

Past Weightlifting/Fitness:
  • Teens/20s: Mainly bro splits, 5x5, Dogcrapp. I also played Rugby for 7 years, including during college.
  • Early 30s: My wife made me go to Orange Theory (yes, I know), but it actually kick-started my motivation.
  • Mid 30s: Started group strength training, then tailored it to my liking.
  • Current: For the last 3 years, I've been doing CrossFit and yoga.
Injuries:
  • 2015: Rotator Cuff/Labrum Surgery
  • 2019: Torn Achilles
  • 2022: Torn ACL
  • I have Dupytrens Contracture... look it up if you're not sure what it is. It sucks.
  • All were repaired surgically. The first two occurred while playing rugby, and the ACL tear was a complete accident.
Supplements/PEDs:
  • Took a bunch of prohormones/ephedra in high school and college not knowing any better. 1-TU, 1-Ad, etc.... I know, bad decisions at age-17-22
  • Did 4 weeks of test e (400mg/week) at age 22, was supposed to run it for 8 weeks, but life got in the way and I never finished it. I know, bad decisions at age 22.
  • Since then... no ph... no PEDs. Bunch of bullshit "test boosters" here and there
  • Current: Creatine, fish oil, magnesium.
Current stats:
  • 40 years old
  • Height: 5'8" Weight: 205 lbs
  • Bench: 325 lbs
  • Squat: 385 lbs
  • Deadlift: 485 lbs
  • Power Clean: 250 lbs - form is junk...work in progress
  • calf raise - 10000 lbs 😅

For someone who don’t take any PEDs & 40 you have some decent lift numbers. We all have injuries, I think it’s just learning to work smarter & around the issues the best we can after addressing it because it’s never the same after surgery (least for me).

Did you have any goals in mind or just giving us all an intro? Welcome btw.

Thanks Lee. Starting to do some hard reading and research on ped's and such. I've got a good knowledge base, but you can never know too much before going down that road. Just wanted to start with an intro.!

Good idea, most people do the opposite asking questions after they start. Good luck, lots of info on here.
