On TRT. Will anavar affect my test levels? If so, how long before my next blood draw should I stop anavar?

Basically the title. I'm on 160 mg of testosterone per week (injecting sub-Q every other day). Recently, I started taking 20 mg/day of Anavar. Two questions.

1. Will the anavar affect my free and/or total testosterone levels?

2. If so, how long before my next blood test should I stop taking anavar to get a "true" measure of my testosteron levels?

I'm still in the process of figuring out what my testosterone dose should be. I started at 120 mg/week. Initially, my testosterone went up to around 900 ng/dL. But, then, without adjusting the dose, it went down to around 500 ng/dL. So, now I'm on 160 mg/week of tesosterone. My next blood test is in about 8 weeks and don't want to mess up the measurement with Anavar (if it does affect the test).

For TRT you're likely using cypionate. 8 day half life. Your levels will depend on when you draw, so 900 to 500 is perfectly normal with pinning once per week.

Anavar may show up as T on your bloodwork. Stop a few days prior, as anavar has like an 8 hour half life.

@mmaphd Thanks. Yeah. I'm on test cyp and I pin every other day (0.2 mL at a concentration of 200mg/mL).

So, if I stop, anavar, just to be safe, one full week before a blood draw, this shouldn't affect the free or total test on a blood draw?

Anavar does nothing to blood work levels. I have like 6 clients who used Anavar and had labs done, levels were in line with their troth and not using anything to skew numbers (I pin LCAR and tend to get higher readings on 120mg/wk TRT dose alone). :sneaky:

Even 3 days is fine.

Thanks again to both of you for taking the time to respond to my questions. One other question for you: if my LDL, apoB, and blood pressure remain on the low end of the normal reference range (or below, in the case of LDL and apoB), is there any need to cycle off the anavar? Or, can I just run 20 mg/day with my TRT indefinitely?

You'll still have to ensure your lipids are healthy, long-term Anavar won't help that if you don't work on harm reduction.

I'd say add in daily 500mg-1g Citrus Bergamot, 1g IP6, high-potency garlic extract and if a pharma solution is needed I'd run Rosuvastatin or Pitavastatin 5-10mg twice a week for a month then taper down to either half the dose or once per week for another month and taper off.

I guess I don't quite understand your response @petefox . My question about taking anavar continuously was under the assumption that my LDL, ApoB and blood pressure are on the low end of the normal range. Assuming they are, why would I need to cycle off the anavar and/or take a statin, garlic extract, and citrus bergamot?

As a side note: I actually am already taking ezetimibe (Zetia) and just started repatha. I've heard repatha absolutely tanks ApoB and LDL. But, I don't have bloodwork yet to confirm that. I'll test LDL and ApoB after being on repatha for a few months.

Well low LDL is fine. Anavar can tank HDL, the good kind, so that's what you want to watch out for.

More towards improving HDL levels, that's what I was going with.
