For those of you that know the struggle, don't forget about the local food bank. I haven't had to buy ground beef, chicken breast, rice, or eggs since I started hurting the local food bank. Save it for the people that need it...but if you need it you need it...

On occasion I’ll go to my grandmas house and steal some of her food. But she’s been getting chunky so in my head it’s me doing her a favor for her health

@webstar138 How much time are you willing to spend butchering meat?

In addition to using a slow cooker, I also used to buy a lot of whole chickens that I would cook in the oven two or three at a time.

You spend like an hour a week picking the meat off the bone, but it saved me a ton of money. You could also just get one of those desktop chicken rotisseries and cook them in there, but I always found that they were kind of a pain to clean. Costco also sells rotisserie chicken for $5 each. Assuming you are not a mass monster, for about $30 or $40 bucks a week, that could easily be most of your protein right there.

Good to know. I usually just air fry shit for the convenience or if I have the time I'll bbq a bunch of chicken etc. The $5 chicken is a good call though.

I eat a few rotisserie chickens a week. Can't go wrong for the price. I can get a whole chicken and a bag of microwave rice for $8. Cheap dinner.

Lately my diets awful. Running a higher test only and my body wants more food so I'm being a dirty bitch and eating pizza etc 😂

Glad you think so, keep any eye out for next weekend, grocery stores will be looking to dump their overstock of frozen turkeys. Should be an cheap way to load up on protein.

You should invest in a rice cooker...best 20 dollars I've ever spent. So simple. I buy a bag of jasmine rice from costco and it lasts a year. You can substitute chicken stock or bone broth for the water..I've never made a bad batch of rice. This is the one I use...

I do need a new one. Everytime I buy any sort of appliance my s/o will move it from the counter to the drawers and separates the cover and can't find it. Very very annoying
