Script for clomid, hoping for TRT

I had a consult with a clinic, my T results were low-normal and I was hoping to get TRT but they prescribed me clomid. I thought it was basically a pill mill but the doctor seemed more legit than expected. They want me to take it for 8 weeks then run another blood panel. What’s the best route for getting TRT?

(1) say clomid made me feel great but complain about sides. Don’t know if this will work, as my T wasn’t all that low.

(2) wait for the 8 week check point, then crash my T further, say clomid didn’t help. I can use LGD-4033 to drop my T. I’m not sure how believable this is though that T would drop after clomid.

Take the clomid for 8 weeks. Say that you still feel like you’re suffering specific hypogonadism symptoms you complained about before and that you don’t like the way clomid makes you feel despite the numbers coming back much improved. And they WILL be much improved. Clomid has been proven to do just that.

There’s a chance you feel better on clomid. More then likely it’ll be a temporary fix. Either way, worth a shot. After the 8 week panel complaining about symptoms and side effects hopefully they agree to try starting you up on TRT. If they still seem hesitant, remind them that IF the testosterone didn’t work out they can go back to using the clomid to get you started back up. Trying out TRT is mostly harmless - you won’t be on long enough if there are problems to perm lower your natty production any more then doing a lgd cycle would.

I travel internationally for a living, unfortunately, so I’m looking for a legal script with my name on it for boarder crossings

Hmm. Thanks! One thing I forgot to mention is the doc got REALLY stuck on the fact that I have a finasteride prescription, and my TSH was high (but that’s because I took T3 while cutting, and TSH rebounded). He attributed libido concerns to finasteride (even though I said they predated the script), and energy/recovery/muscle/brain fog concerns to thyroid, so he also wanted me to drop the finasteride and take thyroid meds. I’m liking your suggestion, but I’m worried he’ll be like “okay, so your T is up from clomid but you still have symptoms… so low T definitely isn’t the issue.” so I’m looking for a way to get him to drop the other shit and focus on T.

Yeah, some doctors act like they’re defending the king and castle when it comes to their script pad. Hopefully he does not go that route though. It’s VERY common that clomid therapy/restarts don’t work and ultimately you end up on real TRT. The number goes up, but you commonly don’t “feel it.” Do NOT let him brush you off. You have to be your strongest advocate. Be assertive (Yeah I know, TRT would REALLY help with that) and insist that you would really like to try TRT. Worst case, tell him that you disagree and you would like to request a referral to an endocrinologist.

Might seem strange, but if you go in on a slow day at the pharmacy you could ask the folks back there if they know of a doctor or doctors in particular who a lot of the testosterone scripts are coming from at their store.

Hmm thanks, alright. This is actually already a T clinic and not my PCP. I called them first and they said they’ll prescribe T for anyone below 550, which is why I didn’t bother crashing my T and just showed them my “real” results at low 500’s. So I’m kinda disappointed and regret not crashing it first. I think they’ll prescribe easily if I just feed them the right info, but “right info” is a bit messy now that they have baseline labs and their treatment plan.

I actually talked to my PCP about just getting a blood test for T and E2 levels, of DHT, and she told me to fuck right off. I think that door is pretty closed unfortunately, but it may be for the best anyway.

Hopefully going in and complaining about the Clomid / unresolved symptoms overall will get them to open up to testosterone for you. I can understand wanting the script for easier traveling. That said, Test U can be injected every other week so with proper planning leading up to even a 3 week trip (inject extra before leaving, and bigger injection upon returning) can be managed without running into any big issues if you end up having to do it yourself (like manyo of us) because the doctors want to keep it locked down.

LGD 4033 made me shoot blanks, shit is surpressive as fuck. Thats a smart idea to get a TRT script tho.

I’m going to need the name and location of this doctor, lol. In all seriousness though, unless you find this PCP preferable for other reasons it might be time to switch.

On a side note, doctors don’t just hand out stuff because that’s the primary route of non-surgical malpractice suits. I don’t like it, but I get it.

If you’re going through insurance, you’re going to have a really tough time. There are plenty of trt clinics that will give you testosterone but you’re going to have to pay. Defy Medical and Titan Medical come to mind. Both are in Florida and both do long-distance, so as long as you’re in the US you’re good, but you gotta pay. Titan Medical is expensive but they are very progressive and will prescribe a script for 300mg/week (not joking). Defy is a bit more by the book and they genuinely care about your health, but will force you to try clomid first, even if you’ve been running clomid from another doc. If after 4 weeks you don’t experience symptom relief, they will give you testosterone (they care only about symptoms, not numbers), but like Titan, you GOTTA PAY. These places will each run you 300-400 a month.
