Strongman Comp Prep Cycle Suggestion

What’s your best strength cycle from experience, that’ll keep you reasonably mobile/athletic. I’m a strongman athlete and some of the events in the competition are moving events so I can’t just be an immobile bloatlord

Background: 36 years old
Lifting experience: 20 years
Height/weight: 6’2” ~257lbs currently
Cycle experience: only testosterone cycles, pretty much on and off for the last 10 years. 300mg-600mg a week.

I’m currently cruising at 200mg/wk test cyp and titrating the testosterone up for contest prep (strongman). the comp isn’t until December so I am adding in some deca (first experience, 400mg/wk) as well.

My question is without going overboard what’s some solid strength stacks you’ve all had your best experiences with? I am already a naturally anxious guy. I really am thinking tren is probably not for me. I’m tossing in deca to help put on some mass. I’d like to get up to the 275lb weight class without becoming a blob of shit. This means slow steady lean-ish gains.

Also now with all this fentanyl shit going on I’d really like to stay away from UGL pressed tabs and capsules. Is this an unreasonable concern? I never thought about it like this before but recently one of my coworkers passed away from taking a pressed pill (xanax) he got on the black market. Really woke me the fuck up.

I’ll be titrating my test up to 600mg/wk and adding deca soon running this up to my comp (12/1/23).

Any strongman competitors in here that have a recommendation? Powerlifters maybe?

Strongman competitor and powerlifter here.

For me personally I had best luck with 750mg test per week. Then on training days I would take 100mg no ester test and 50mg no ester tren.

Comp days still take 100mg test no ester and 100mg tren no ester and 40mg halo. That seemed to work very well for me. Still could move and not be winded but a got some extra on top from the test / tren base and halo.

If you really want, add in some eq. Given how much eq increases rbc, it gives a good carry over to endurance.

With strongman and powerlifting it is very different than bodybuilding. Again, this is just my personal experience, but I have trained better and gotten better results. Using certain compounds acutely rather than continuously not a huge fan of being on tren for a 12 week cycle. I would rather just blast it on a training day let it get in my body get the effect that I want and get it out because as a strongman, competitor or power lifter I’m sure you know this, but The training that we do places a high load on our central nervous system . Certain compounds that say a bodybuilder would take such as tren for 12 week prep, has your central nervous system continuously on overdrive, which isn’t good for a power lifter or strongman competitor
Also what worked for me is to take 24 oz fruit juice with two large scoops of maltodextrin hour before training.

Thanks for this reply. I will definitely give the test no ester a try. I’m a little apprehensive about tren but I’ll do some research.

How long would one typically need to pin the no ester compound(s) prior to training?

Right now my training split is Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.

On Tuesday and Thursday I’m lifting from 4:45am-6am then I go to work.

If I injected say 4am-ish is that 45 min enough time?

I usually did 45-60m prior, I'm sure you'll find, as I did, it's better to pin your PWO late so it kicks in after you're at the gym, than early and be just mad as fuck at home for no reason because it kicked in before you made it out to the car.

Also Methyl Tren, as long as your liver isn't weak 😂

Nope, Test No Ester and Tren No Ester, instant (ish) kick in the dick. Test suspension is water based and fucking suuuuuuuuucks to pin, TNE and TrNE are oil based with guaiacol usually to keep 100mg/ml from crashing out. That bothers some people but I like the smell and taste of it, it's like it flips a switch on my brain "time for strong".
