TRT / High hematocrit?

Hey guys so Ive been on doc prescribed TRT for about 3 years.

I had to get clearance from my endocrinologist to get surgery for gynocomastia and my hematocrit was 52 (range is ?-50 I think)

She told me I could donate blood to get it down lt or I will be on a lower dose which will be so low probably wont be worth the pinning tbh.

I am only on 200x2 weeks but I do 100mg Test cyp a week.

Also my estrogen came out as 64 which im not sure is high ? She wont prescribe me any AIs... because possible bone frailty?

My questions are how do I lower my hematocrit and whys it so high on low of a dose? And my estrogen should I keep it the same is it in a good range? I already have gynocomastia from puberty. I wanted to try some deca/npp but not sure with the hematocrit.

Anything advice wise would help - if it gets lowered it will be a laughable 75mg ever 2 weeks 🤨

I used to donate blood every 4 weeks to manage hematocrit. Once I quit drinking, lost a bunch of weight, and hydrated a lot more, it naturally went down.

I'd ask for an AI, or get one for yourself and do a low dose to help with gyno and E levels.

200 mg every 2 weeks is really shitty dosing, tbh. My doc prescribed 125mg/week to start, and there's still a pretty big trough right before dosing again so I can't imagine every two weeks.

Yea I probably have to hydrate more and quit drinking/ lose more bodyfat tbh. I dont smoke or vape which is good though.

I asked for arimistane (acted like i didnt know what it was called lol) but she didnt wannna give it to me, i have both asin and adex on hand but not sure if its that high where i need it unless i upped my dose off the record.

Yea I actually took it into my own hands to do 100mg every week instead of 200 ever two weeks and told the doc I thought it would be better and they didnt argue with me about it .

Doc wants me to stop all together for 4 weeks no testosterone and then retest my hematocrit- i feel like thats a bad idea in terms of just going cold turkey

You’re actually very lucky they didn’t already have you completely stop. 52 is right in the warning track and 55+ means immediately stop pinning or you’re going to have high clot risk… good news is since you’ve been on TRT 3 yrs and never donated blood that’s a common thing and donating ASAP will take it down to normal range.

Red Cross asks many q’s to disqualify candidates.. if you have to bluff at all to donate just call them next day or two and tell them you have flu. That’s what I do if I need to lower levels during blasts and just donate a few bucks if you feel bad. But on TRT and no AI you’re pretty much fine even if they use the blood…

Question about the questions they ask - why would I have to call and say I have the flu wont they just dump the blood if it doesnt meet their requirements

The red cross is stupid. The questionare asks if you intravenously use gear. Which isnt even a thing.

You can tell them you're on TRT just not UGL. Otherwise just don't say anything

52 HCT is not that bad if you are athletic and low body fat** I personally wait until im around 56 to donate blood, I know of guys that wait until they are 58 to donate. Carter bloodcare's cutoff is 60. Again, these are mostly Jiu-Jitsu guys that are lean and do cardio everyday.. Just trying to give you a different perspective. I first started TRT injecting once a week and it shot my hct up quick so I started injecting every other day it has helped for the last 7 years.

e2 is different for everyone. 64 could be high for you while others can have no problems at 100. I personally start getting low libido around 70's. I take 0.25 adex every three days until symptoms go away.

Good info to know, I have always heard of low e2 having low libido, but I guess everyones different. I definitely need to lose body fat.

Im gonna try different methods and just keep looking at my bloodwork.

I have hypogonadism and with 100/week im around 450~ , I would like to gain muscle and lose weight but I feel like without the trt im gonna become more skinny fat and not be able to hold on to the muscle I do have .

But also not sure if its safe for me to add other compounds that are not test that I could use instead and small amount of trt?

Also to note- since ill be healing from the gyno surgery I wont be able to work out , so I wont be able to pin at all again lol

Honestly, you're probably just dehydrated. Drink 32oz of water with electrolytes about an before your blood draw. I bet it will be lower.

Mine used to be high 50s until I realized I was just dehydrated in the mornings. No issues now.

If you wanna just keep it cheap just use 1/8 tsp pink salt.

If you wanna spend the money on a supplement to make sure you're getting in all your electrolytes in ratio I really liked BPNs electrolyte supplement, Project AD cocolyte, and LMNT. Only issue with LMNT is its alot more per serving than you probably need in one sitting.

I was just gonna not tell them anything

Thats what my doc told me- said not to even say my blood is thick
They'll know anyway when they measure your hemoglobin. If it's super high they'll draw blood to lower it ( I believe ) but not allow for donating. Mine is always like 18 so fairly high.

anyone have any suggestions to these parts of my post? Would be helpful - I was thinking deca/npp or mast? I think eq would be bad because of how my hematocrit is high already- just looking for experienced opinions 👍
